Oh my, I just remembered. Sony is taking back all PS3s because they're coming out with a new model.

One that's a different color.

No joke, when we had to figure out what's wrong with our PS3 recently, we called Sony and they told us they're coming out with a new model in a different color. I haven't heard of anything else that's different than the regular PS3, but there's a good chance that you'd have to wait a few extra weeks.

Really now get a Wii while you still have a chance. Just go to any store you can find that might sell a Wii and you should find one.

First of all, you're too young to be on Newgrounds. Second, nobody is putting a gun to Wii owners' heads and forcing them to buy shovelware. A few of the greatest games of the past decade can be found on Wii (TP, Brawl, SMG, etc.), and that's all you really need.

The pre-teen notion of "maturity," probably caused psychologically by an inherent middle-schooler's desire to separate oneself from "children," is as ridiculous as it is narrow-minded and stupid. Ironically, once you actually grow up, you'll find that, especially when it comes to entertainment media, fun is ageless.

I have a Playstation 3 and it sound like you have made a wise choice, my friend has a wii and it isn't all that fun.

Honestly you people, you should grow up. The Wii has a great selection of games that are fun, what does it matter if they're Nintendo titles or not? And claiming the games are orientated for 10 year olds, I mean wow, you know what else is orientated for kids? Halo, Guitar Hero, ps3title since I can't even think of one and pretty much every other popular game. Just because a game is colorful and non-serious instead of GRITTY and bloom you think it's just for kids?

Exactly. I absolutely love Viva Pinata and that game is oriented towards 7 year olds and up. Notice the "up". Same goes for movies. Bee Movie is meant for kids, but I still enjoyed it. As long as you get pleasure over whatever you're playing or watching, then you shouldn't have to care what demographic it's aimed at.

To the OP: I support your decision, because (to be frank) the best lineup for the next two years are pretty much PS3's exclusive property. 360 has Fable 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2, while Wii has Boom Blox and (maybe) a new Zelda or Star Fox, but it's quite hard to say that that's much compared to MGS4, LBP, Team Ico's next game, FFXIII/XIII Versus, the yearly Naughty Dog (possibly Jak) and Insomniac (Resistance 2 and Ratchet) games, and Killzone 2(I don't buy the hype, just throwing it out there). Metal Gear alone makes the "Well, </insert game here> makes the </insert console here> WAAYYY better than </insert console here>" argument against the PS3 retarded, but that's just me.

Yea i realized that too. I used to hate pokemon because i thought that i was too old for that stuff and i wanted to grow up badly. Now that I'm older, i realize that pokemon video games are awesome.

i have a real good point here there is like 4 or 5 rated m games for the wii and i don't mean it's based on ten year olds i mean that the audience for the wii is like wide with different ages of "casual gamers" and majority of the games are targeted to kids. all i'm saying is if the wii can get some more mature games and a better flow of games from third party developers it can become an even better system in the future.

Well, yes, third party support and wider demographic support are always good things. You're right about that. What I don't like is the notion that just because a game isn't "mature," that must make it targeted towards kids.

In my opinion, the wider the audience, the better, as long as the gameplay isn't dumbed down to make that happen (like it is on many third-party Wii games). The first-party games, however, are filled with top-notch quality, and people shouldn't back away from them just because of the non-serious themes and brightly colored visuals.

And honestly, even if a game is "for kids," who cares? As long as it's fun...
