This is such a lame question, but what is the action script for a play button at the beggining of a movie?

on(release){
play();
}
or replace play(); with gotoAndPlay(ENTER FRAME NUMBER HERE);

there are severals ways you can make the script for a button, depending on the timeline, movieclips, etc.

On way you can do it is putting:

// button script
on(release){
_root.play() // you can put _root.play(Frame where its gonna start playing)
}

this will tell the button to play on the root timeline so you wont get confuse with mc timelines to.
