Wow, overkill. You can run any game out now on high with a 9600GT or 8800GT.

Whoa, 1 Terrabyte. That's a lot of free space. My two disk drives are only 80 GB in total.

Nothing is more EXTREEEEEEME than fans.

Asus P5N-T Deluxe NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI

nforce has some issues but the big thing here is the overpricing

4gb corsair Dominator ram

Who needs money when I can save the 20 minutes it takes to calibrate timings!

x2 Nvidia 9800 gx2 1gb video card

you bought some failure. Then bought it again.

750gb HDD (10k rpm)

File redundancy is for those 7500 RPM loser with muliple drives.

1200 watt psu

backed by an unbeatable 40% efficiency right?

creative lab sound blaster x-fi sound

For when you absolutely must have built-in reverb.

windows vista ultimate

Clearly you like things shiney so you did alright here.

I plan on running Gears of War maxed also with Crysis and COD4 with no lag ever. I just got done installing the OS and puttin the drives in right now.

Crysis with no lag eh? Mhmm good luck with that sonny. Also that computer doesn't exist so this whole post is pretty moot.

How painfully obvious could you possibly make it that you're a little jealous? Combing through his post and talking smack at computer hardware components? Not everyone uses their machines to browse the internet and type seething posts. Jesus.

With that said, I still think it's a bad time to build a computer. It's been 1.5+ years since a real upgrade to video card lineups, Intel's revolutionary Nehalem processor architecture is out later this year, DDR3 will be worth buying, and maybe even solid state drives will have a more noticeable part in the market soon.

I'm going to build a 16-core rig next year. It'll be great at everything else, too, but I sure would love to have a good rendering machine.

So far, the only HD's that are capable of running 10k rpm, are either 73GB or 150GB max. Unless you can provide me with a link, you LIED.

LIED.

Any decent gaming PC can easily max out any game other than Crysis. How does it run Crysis?

I built my PC a month ago, and these are its simplified specs:

Antec 900 Case
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66 GHz Processor
EVGA Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
2 GB DDR G.SKILL RAM
500 GB Seagate HDD
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

That's basically it, and it completely OWNED every game other than Crysis that I owned at max settings. Also, I got this PC for probably less than almost $2,000 compared to your PC. Twin 9800's? Madness.

My PC struggles to run Crysis in high settings. I set it on 1280x1024 resolution with 2x AA and all medium settings except for very high object detail settings and high shader settings. It ran VERY smoothly and it looked amazing until the island froze over and the snow particles and sounds completely lagged up my PC. I had to bump all the settings down to exactly medium, and now it looks like crap at the moment.

Well congrats on getting a hyper-gaming PC that I probably can't afford until I become a billionaire in the future by working hard on my education right now.
