the first one seems... gimmicky.

It's good.
The robot is cool but the body looks lopsided, as the robot seems to be at an angle.
The detail put on the different parts of machinery I like though.
I think the arms are too straight though.

The boy is ok.
I hate the way his left hand looks like it's bending while holding the gun.
Humans are not jelly.
He also looks too thin and he's obviously sweaty as the shirt is stuck to him.
The background is bland but refined to a nice sheen, as there's variety.
Pretty good,
Keep at it.

Here's a small comic I made. Since my tablet is busted, I drew everything in Flash, with a mouse. I only used the line tool for all the outlines... It took several hours to make, and here it is...

I like the angle of the gun and whatnot, but you should redo his face.
His hair is flat against his skull, and he has no facial detail really.
Also, like someone else already said, maybe make the shirt more baggy.
Other than that, it's pretty good.

I've been trying out inking, and here is what resulted. I drew it first with a pen, inked with a sharpie, and colored in Photoshop CS2.

You draw machinery well but I think your drawing of organic things leave something to be desired, your character poses are very stiff and I don't like how you draw faces, not enough uniqueness in each face.

Otherwise keep it up I'm sure you'll be an excellent artist in no time!

Yeah... I've been drawing machinery since I was 5, and I only started drawing people like 3 years ago... but I'm getting there... I'll try and loosen up the poses a bit... Are there any good tutorials on how to do that?

pretty good stuff..except peoples faces and shoulders arent shaped like that same thing for hands and legs...i would say ur style would be like a robot style?
