i was having a conversation earlier with a friend. and he was saying how suicide is wrong and illegal (which is a absurd concept).
i was curious if this is the general opinion, that suicide is simply "wrong".

dude, if you are dine with life, if you can analyze society and say "i have nothing to offer you", then you have all rights to off yourself. its not illegal, its a bit morally wrong if you just up and kill yourself, but aside from that, we are the only ones that can choose to suicide ourselves

As weird as it may seem, someplaces (most places i guess, at least here) it is in fact illegal to commit suicide, due to the fact that it is also illegal to put yourself in danger. now of course you can't arrest a dead man, and you won't arrest a person that is so Sad of his life (which is the general case of people trying suicide), so instead they are offered psycological help.

Suicide shouldn't be illegal and it's not a morality issue, it's a health issue. A normal, healthy human being is genetically wired to self-preserve.

So while I don't agree with suicide, I do think that everyone has an inherent right to die. I wouldn't condone someone's decision to kill themself, but I would respect the choice and their conviction.

If I had AIDs, I'd off myself. If I had cancer, I'd off myself. If someone I knew wanted to because they had an incurable disease then I'd tell them to do what they think is best, I wouldn't encourage them and I'd feel sad, but I'd know that they were better off. I'm also a firm believer in euthanasia.
However, I don't believe you should just off yourself because a girl left you or some bullshit like that because then you still have a lot to live for and you just hurt people for no reason.

Seriously, I'm against it, it is the most selfish act and a very destructive one. Most, if not all ofthe people who do it can be helped aswell, they are just too stubborn to get any.

I'd never do it myself, and I don't have much respect for those who do.

That being said, I think suicide is a great thing. Eliminates the weak willed people from society, helps deal with overpopulation, allows resources to go to others, etc.

Your life gets a little bit better every time someone dies, especially if they're in your age group.
