XP is better if you have an older PC, otherwise Vista is better. It's prettier and has DX10, awwwright.

Vista is a blessing and a curse on this Earth.

XP is the better of the choice. Vista is over priced, and has many glitches and bugs. I have XP on my one PC, and Vista on my laptop. Some various fuck-ups and reasons not to get Vista (from my experiences with it).
1. Moving folders and files from place to place typically fucks up, it can sometimes take up to a half-hour just to copy a few MB file (and my laptop has more memory and has better everything than my PC). Even moving a few KB file fucks up.
2. The UAC is a pain in the ass, and can be disabled, but it still is annoying if you decide to keep it.
3. Many programs are still adapting to Vista, and it still isn't compatible for a lot of programs. Also you sometimes have to search for ways to disable things which keep programs from working (a great example, Steam).
4. It requires a lot more memory to run, compared to XP.
5. Programs tend not to run because of a lack of being Administrator, even if you are the computer's administrator.
There are plenty of other complications too. I definitely recommend XP, everything works a lot better and faster.

XP is fast, vista is pretty.
There's exceptions to both rules.
Choose wisely.

I have Vista, and all I can say is that it's pretty... other than that, it's complete shit.
Windows XP all the way. WAY less memory usage, pretty much exact same features.

How long has it been since you've updated Vista and how old is your hardware?

Vista is awesome. i do like it much better than XP
plus, once the world finally dicides to make uber powerful computers affordable, vista will be (and even now is) the only way to play some games, because vista is the only windows that supports.... whatever it was, i forget, lol
but its still a fact

I don't care what anyone says, XP. I like the look better. Vista sucks. It's nopt compatible with anything XP. GRAPHICS AREN'T EVERYTHING!!!! Only Macs can have good working computers these days.
XP is good - Mac OSX is great - Vista sucks

XP because I know my way around it so well. I see no need to slow down my system for some cool visual effects. And I think my custom theme suits well anyway. So tharr.

Just a question for you guys, have you even tried Vista, or are you just going by what people with horrid PCs say about it?

My laptop runs on Vista, and I like it alot, but it just isnt as fast as XP.
There is also a major downside to Vista, which is that it can only send files to other Vista users. It cannot send files to XP users or Mac users. Which really sucks balls because when your printer runs outta ink on the day you gotta hand in an essay, youre shit outta luck.

Oh yeah, I forgot that .txt files weren't invented back in the XP days.
Wait, what?

I really didn't feel any difference in performance, when I tried Vista a couple of days ago. It's just as fast as XP. Besides the 500 ram it used I saw no reason to say it was a bad OS. But who uses more than a gig of ram, everytime they're on a PC anyway?
This whole "Vista Sucks" campaign, that has been going around for god knows how long is pretty baseless.
Vista is a nice upgrade from XP, with plenty of new advanced features in the explorer as well as a much greater tweakability.
I might even Pirate it someday, when Dell finally sends me that extra ram for my laptop that I've ordered 4 month ago. Fucking cunts.

Vista, for the time being, is pretty meh. To many bugs. Though to be fair, I only got to use it for like and hour. :P I might upgrade to in about 2 years, when they get a few more bugs fixed and I get a faster computer. (The one I have doesn't suck, but I don't like even coming close to lagging)

I started to use vista beta 6 months before it hit shelves. This was before its image turned bad. Since then I have been running vista and ubuntu. I would not go back to XP simply because vista works fine for me. I have never had a problem on it at all.

It just goes to show you that stupid people not only ruin their own lives, but make it harder for other people to live their own.
I'd like to apologize on their behalf, Microsoft. I doubt they'll even see that anyways. It was only for context, so w/e.
