Good for you, but think about this. You took a candy bar, probably cost the store $0.25 or something. So you felt bad, felt bad you took the store for a quarter. How bad do you think that made the store feel to lose a quarter? They probably could give a shit at the end of the day.
Now come to Newgrounds and steal an award from someone who worked hard on a Flash for a month or more. They saw their chance at the award taken away by a group who mass reviewed some piece of crap entry so it could win an award it doesn't deserve. I would think that would hurt the Flash artist who was robbed A LOT more than it would hurt a store to take a candy bar without paying for it.
Wade, if somebody spent a month or more on a movie that ended up with Turd without being manipulated, that person does not deserve an award. Review crew is a little different, but how do you think RomanCollar feels about having to resubmit all his flash (or for that matter not being able to resubmit some of the ones he doesn't have anymore)? As much as you might want it to, 1+1 does not equal 0, it equals 2.
The thing about deleting accounts is, that really better be the finishing blow to that person and not just something that irritates them. Otherwise you've suddenly irritated someone who no longer has anything holding them back from doing whatever they want. The threat of deletion is far more powerful than deletion itself, and I'm sure you're considering that in terms of preventing similar behavior in the future from others, but don't forget about the person you make an example of.
As of yet, the worst any of us have done is use some alts to grab review crew. It's understandable that you might want to get rid of that award and do something to the person who cheated the system. However, in general, we don't actually violate the rules of the system so much as use our numbers to manipulate what we want to within the rules.
We try not to step on your toes. Even on Camel day, none of us used alts or submitted more than 2 movies. We decided to be courteous and not submit all of our movies simultaneously during our next event. Maybe if you'd actually talk to people before taking action and making a big edrama thread about it these things would get resolved with less Clocks deciding they don't give a fuck about what happens on Newgrounds anymore.
If this keeps up, it's not going to be pretty, and that's not a threat, it's just what I see. If you think a bunch of Camels or a couple stolen awards are bad, delete the wrong clock accounts. That's when the CC will fuck up Newgrounds. What we're doing now is playful, but our capabilities extend far beyond portal parties and awards. I suggest negotiation in the future before you make enemies.
