Here's an idea, get rid of this lame "Portal Watch" bullshit, get some experienced users to moderate illegal, racist, malicious, etc flashes. But also use them to produce a judgment on a flash which has passed that seems to have a suspiciously high score for it's quality (because of spam groups/alternate accounts).

This will not stop everything but will make it difficult for shitty swfs gaining awards.

That'd require programming time that the programmers for the site currently don't have. The redesign is still incomplete and they are working their booties off to try to actually make it complete :\.

How do you know the users who he has selected aren't experienced? I mean seriously, do you really need to be on the site +2 years to determine what is hateful, racists or crap?

RCP is normally won legit anyways, the SS and CC and what not don't steal it a lot anymore because it's harder nowadays, but ALWAYS FEATURED ONE? CC was in 2001 right?....... yeah

I don't even pay attention to the awards anyway, so it doesn't bother me. Why not make those awards hand-selected by the staff or a respected/dependable team of judges instead of being lazy and letting an easily abused automatic system do it for you? I think that would be less of a hassle than recruiting people to constantly monitor the portal for cheaters, lol.

Anyone who actually Blams / Protects or checks out the latest Portal entries will easily find out about those abuses. Not like if it was really a time consuming thing to tell Wade about the most abusive crap out there. I don't think an hand-picked award every day / week would work fine. People would complain, people would whine... Etc. Front page is often a good example.

lol, I actually be on newgrounds around 2000, just never signed up for an account till 05, and even then, didn't start on the bbs till much later. But even then, I was till 16, 17 viewing flashes. I think :) Although, i wish I did signed up and be active, probably have over 20,000 posts and shit load more exp, but oh well.

NG rules have always been broken. There is just increased attention to it now with Wades post. There is no quick fix 'magic' solution. If there was, we wouldn't be having this 'Stealing Awards' discussion right now. Every argument case in this thread alone is nothing but baseless conjecture

Please can we get rid of the turd of the week it just gives spammers something to aim for they submit a flash that passes with a score of 1.71 it just passes and then at the end of the week it has something like 0.68 they actually like getting turd of the week so please can we get rid of it then maybe less people will spam the portal.
