Some users and groups have been stealing Portal awards from some time now. I will have my Portal Watch team keep me informed when they spot this type of activity. Users found participating in such activity will have their accounts locked down or termianted. This has already begun as we have warned users about this in the past. Users found to be cheating our system (even if they didn't submit the entry involved, but are participating in the abuse) will be dealt with. Alts will be tracked down to main accounts, main accounts will be locked down or termianted. This is your final notice.

When a group submits a flash and they cheat. They get hundreds of alt accounts reviewing the flash with a 10 rating, it over powers the rest of the reasonable reviewers. Having a high review score, they can earn Review Crew Pick or UnderDog.

Sometimes, groups can vote five so so much they it may even get a daily award (either from places 1 thru 5) but that rarely happens. The review awards are most likely to happen.

Its not exactly stealing, but unfair cheating.

I think stealing awards is along the lines of having a group of people vote 5 on a flash that didn't deserve it.

I know I haven't been accepted to the Portal Watch, but... Here's my list of constant award thieves:
LordZeebmork (both under his main account and under multiple different alts, notably Jewgrounds)
arushi/50vmp (multiple illegitimate mass-reviewed Underdogs)
uncounted Clock Crew members (multiple Clocks have been known to mass-vote and mass-review to steal RCP and Underdog)
Anyone else know about others involved in this? My list is rather short...

Wade, I remember you posting about this before, and it still makes as little scene as it did last time. Define "stealing an award" because crew activity in itself has nothing to do with it. So what does count as something that would help in stealing an award? It would not hurt to name things that you are banning, would it?

Considering a bunch of people were leaving multiple reviews, why would I think your actions were a mistake? Also I thought you had a track record of causing problems. Maybe if you weren't using alts you wouldn't have made a "mistake" like that. If you play with fire you get burned baby! :)

Personally, I think TOTW and UOTW should just be eliminated entirely. Surely there would be at least a 90% reduction in spam.

The award stealers know who they are and how they steal awards. We also have plenty of users that understand how they do this and can spot them doing this, or are in the groups that carry out the stealing. I know there are enough users out there that will alert me when these abuses take place.

The thing is, arushi is actually one hell of an artist. He could definitely do much better than mass reviewing and spamming, and maybe someday he will. He likes all that weird stuff, so he could end up the next Zekey if he's not IP banned first. Zeeb could probably do a lot better than he does too, but he's too Anonymous-ish, too /i/nsurgent to do anything but break rules.
