Is in the works

I know this has been known for a while, but I have been playing the original on my old N64 (good times) and I felt like talking about Banjo Kazooie, do you think this new one will live up to the standards left by the NG4 games?

Also, I am wondering since Rare left Nintendo and joined with microsoft, will we still get to see Rare games like Golden eye, the Banjo Kazooie games, and such on the VC. Because those were some of the best games on the NG4.

My blog now has pics of Princess Peach.
And listen to my new selection of assorted music videos!

This game has been delayed for like a year. It better be groundbreaking when it's released.

I'm a great fan of Banjo-Kazooie.

It can't possibly be as good as the first two.
It simply can't.
If it is, my jaw would hit the floor.

They're going to make a shooter out of it.

I'm already feeling the dissapointment.

Its probley gonna suck just like when the Crash series went on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

There is a method to the madness, but I'm not sure what it is.

I'm sure it'll be on par with the original and its brother. I don't trust Rare to come up with original concepts anymore, but I'm sure they can copy a basic formula and come up with something decent. Personally, I don't think the Banjo-Kazooie games, or most collect-a-thons from around that time for that matter, hold up very well so it won't take anything mind-blowing to make me feel like 3 is a quality follow-up to its predecessors.

Banjo-Tooie contained one of the worst programming errors since the original ET game. (The clockwork mouse in Cloud Cuckooland)

Nope. Live Arcade is more likely, but not very likely. There were talks about having Goldeneye on Live Arcade, but Nintendo didn't want it, so they can't.

Yeah, because Rare did such a good job doing that with Perfect Dark Zero. Maybe they can pull something good off, but I'm skeptical until I see something encouraging.

I remember those old n-64 ones......Those were awsome because they were free roam like GTA. Can't wait till the new one comes out. If it has online that'll be cool.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 360, because you'
d usually think that would be a Wii experience, and that Nintendo would wave it in front of the 360 and Playstation 3's faces.

Granted, that's not going to be indicative of every gamer's personal opinion, but as a general metric I'd hardly call that a failure on the level of Grabbed by the Ghoulies.

In a word: no. I'm not sure what the fate of Banjo-Kazooie is, but since Rare retained the rights to the characters, I'm fairly certain we won't be seeing them on the VC.

As for GoldenEye, that's one of the biggest clusterfucks of legal confusion out there at the moment, likely keeping the game off of both the XBLA and the VC. You see, Nintendo originally published the game, and the game was on N64. However, developer Rare is now owned by Microsoft. However, the gaming license for the James Bond franchise now belongs to Activision-Vivendi. However, the overarching rights to the James Bond license belong to MGM Studios. Ugh.

The "Seaman's Surprise" on the Jolly Roger menu was a sort of giveaway.

Sorry man, classics like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and some other masterpieces will not appear on VC. I really wish the newer gamers would be able to experience such classics, but Microsoft like to play a game called "up yours Nintendo".

Really now, that's like walking up to a toddler, kicking him in the face, then walk away leaving him on the ground crying his eyes out. Copyright shouldn't be such a big matter.

Have you played Perfect Dark Zero? If so, do you really think it deserved ratings above an 8? Reviewers got overhyped for it and gave it better scores than it should have gotten because it was a launch 360 title. It was supposed to be a next-gen experience. Reviewers bought into it and scored it accordingly. It's nor a very good game though.

I recently started playing Banjo-Tooie again. I have Banjo-Kazooie as well.
I thought that Banjo and Kazooie didn´t look good in that trailer. I know, new graphics and bla bla bla but really, Kazooie looks like shit. I think they are going to make the other two games cover their heads in shame.

I was sad when Bottles died...

Yes I have and my impression was that it was a well above average game which brings a few good ideas to the table while having its share of issues. Yes, it was ultimately a forgettable precursor to more capable games in this generation, but that's the impression I got from pretty much every review I read on. Maybe eight is a little high, but not wildly so. Review scores for games in general have become inflated and how PDZ was rated doesn't strike me as out of line.
