I don't mind either way. If I know a person well enough, I give them my name, and we can chat on a less formal basis (although internet forums aren't exactly business-like :P), but likewise, I don't mind being called TamiyaGuy, Tamiya, or TG all the time.

I guess it just depends on which comes naturally, how well you know the person and which the other person is comfortable with in these sorts of settings (i.e. BBS, chat rooms, online games, etc.).

Example, My good buddy's gamertag is "Neocommander", but for all intents and purposes I refer to him ingame by his real name, and he in turn does the same, and everyone else refers to us by our tags.

That's just how things used to be on the BBS. I find it amusing that the older users like gfoxcook, BonusStage, etc. use each others' actual names, and then newer users like yourself get all pissy about it. I mean, who really cares if someone wants to be called by their actual name? IMO, it's more personal and friendly.

I don't really like it when they are referred to by real name, but what are you gonna do? I mean I guess it's ok if you know the person on a personal level outside of Newgrounds, but otherwise it's stupid.

When people shorten my name to APF I don't mind most of the time either.
