Ok, one of my best friends who is a girl.

Has very severe crohns disease. It's to the point where she may have to get a colostomy and an ileostomy. She has by the end of the month before they have to do this. Medication isn't working. Nothing they seem to do is working.

But...weed.

She found from someone that weed would help, and ya know, since weed is known to help alot of things wrong with the human body. I am praying weed will help. Are there any intelligent people on newgrounds who would know if smoking weed would help reduce her crohns disease?

She should ask for a prescription - it just might work.
Or else she could smoke it and see if it helps. :)

I have not heard that weed can cure crohns. Maybe it could help lessen the pain though.

Yeah I know. But see. It's her mom. Her mom said. HELL NO. basically.

So yeah, even if it's a last resort her mom should shut the fuck up and let her. So i've been chiefin with her since she found out it might help.

I'm praying next time she goes to the hospital things are better.

There are medical uses for Marijuana, and I hear it can be obtained with a prescription, for medical needs only - legally, that is.

Therefore, it can't be too far out of the realm of possible.

What lol? Don't you mean cigarettes are 80% of the worlds death. Hah.

Weed is literally impossible to kill someone. Even if by smoking a certain limit you'd die. You'd pass out before you even reached half that limit haha

If you google weed and crohns a lot of stuff comes up confirming what she heard. You can't really take anything at face value, but I doubt they'd all say it helps if it didn't. You just may be picking between lung disease and crohns, though i'm sure suffering with crohns your entire life is worse.

If it's not making things worse, she should continue to take it. Maybe even ask a doctor if smoking weed will make it worse.

I can't confirm that it helps, but I'm 100% sure it wouldn't make it worse. I also know for a fact weed is an amazing pain killer. I had a friend who had something wrong with her woman bits and was going in for an operation and was in serious pain. After a joint she didn't feel a thing.

So try it, if it doesn't help with the disease itself, it will get rid of the pain.

marijuana is not a miracle cure. It doesn't cure cancer, and it won't bring back the Beatles. It gets you high.
That being said, getting high does have its therapeutic advantages. it is a great pain reliever. If your friend suffers a great deal, i strongly recommend it, as it will help her cope with the pain, and there's no danger of overdose. It is also relatively cheap, and has been shown to promote cell growth in the hippocampus.

Well, my aunt has crohns disease, she's already had a few operations on her intestines...But smoking weed to fix it? Seems a bit out there...I'm guessing that weed would help ease some of the symptoms temporarily but other than getting them high...i don't think it would improve their wellbeing...a miracle cure would be nice though, my advice : keep searching, maybe someday you'll be famous.

It's common knowledge... Instead, you find me a wikipedia article that says it is addictive.

As a Crohns sufferer myself, I don't think weed will help. The reason her medication isn't working is possibly the doctors gave her too many medicines to take and it has upset her system.

2 reasons why I'm not entirely sure about this:

1. My Crohns was caught in the early stages, so it was easy for the doctors to catch it out, and give me the necessary stuff to keep it under control.

2. I wouldn't know about weed, because I don't smoke it, and I think it would harm her more than anything.

Go see her gastroentologist (Sorry, I can't spell it) immediately. They will have to give her medication in hospital through tubes and stuff.

Well weed doesn't exactly "cure" anything. I have smoked tons of weed myself and if she is in serious pain it would definitely help with that. It takes your mind off things quite a bit too. If she has problems eating, it increases your appetite, and when you're stoned you tend to be "giggly" and sedated.

If her mom hates it, it could be bad because it would just make things worse between her and her mom. A great way to enjoy pot cookies without anyone finding out is by making pot cookies at someones house. Odourless (not while you make it obviously), very effective, long lasting and it will knock you right out.

I have smoked weed, constantly, from the age of 15. From the moment I wake up till I passed out. It doesn't hurt you, I have never gotten sick in the last like, ever. I feel great, I work out all the time. It's not addictive. I have quit recently because it makes you lazy and pot's expensive.

The negative part about it, is you kind of start thinking differently after large amounts of prolonged use. It generates different brain waves and your thought patterns are literally different after. You could say "your soul is different" but that's with any substance. Your brain becomes "fried" not in a typical sense that you literally are dumb, but you are just too stoned to think some times. Your short term memory becomes fucked. For example, you have a great idea, and then bam, 5 seconds later you can't remember that idea. You can still recall all things and still learn just fine, but when you're high and a few weeks after you got stoned you may be a little out there, sort of like ADD.

If you're not use to it, it can create anxiety and possibly make things worse. If you get stoned and you never get stoned, it can be a very scary experience because you don't know what's happening and it will be quite overwhelming. Make sure you don't over eat your pot cookies though! One is more then enough if you make them right. Check the internet for recipes. I make badass pot cookies. Message me if you want my recipe.

But like I said, it probably wont cure anything. It's safe as hell though, no recorded deaths. It's her choice, it's probably safer then prescription meds lol, but her relationship with her mom could be put at risk if she's a big bitchy lady.

Ulgh! Somehow I doubt that smoke weed would help any illness! I would suggest like oh lets say HERBS and tea, that always works out in the asian culture, natural earth healing is the best way to go, not smoking. Smoking was bad to begin with... :S

It can be obtained by precription. Because, you know, it's a drug and these "drug" things all have medicinal value. Quit being a dunce.
