I don't have a problem with this, I have a problem with a society that doesn't believe in reporting rape very often, copies western rap, has an array of artists who produce anime, manga and literature that preaches "be different" but doesn't change the societal landscape, has the lowest penalties on child porn in the world, is having a problem with an influx of hikikomori, only pays respect to old people who achieved a high rank in their jobs and the list goes on.

That's not to say I hate Japan it's just not a perfect place but that article doesn't really justify anything. Conversely America also has its huge shortcomings but judging from how the Japanese few Americans via anime they tend to think of us as cowboy redneck Christians blasting eachothers asses off with our large arsenal of weaponry.
