Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having. I'm doing a sprite animation. It's coming along well, but I've got a problem. I have a good background picked up, but I'm using paint to import sprites that I picked up off the internet. Problem is, the white background from paint shows up on the import, so I was wondering if there was any way to fix this problem without having to use the brush and line tools to take out the background. If you can help, that'd be great because it would really cut back on time, which I have very little of seeing as I'm a student in highschool. Thanks again for any help you can give me.

Trace the bitmap, then select the white bit and hit Delete.

Theory is wrong.

Don't use paint, paste the spritesheet into flash then click modify, trace bitmap. This will break apart the sprites from the backgrounds, it's best to avoid sprite sheets with black backgrounds though, because most of the time it ends up removing the outline of the sprites too. I'm not too sure how to get around that.
