Valedictorian & More.

Tonight, I went to class and had to go into the main office to get some work for an independent studies class of mine.

The principle called me over to tell me able graduation and proceeded to show me the list of events for the night. I looked through it and he pointed out that there was two slots left, one for music and one to do the "Farewell Speech" to all the students and teachers..

I was then told the list was wrong in saying the position hadn't been filled... He announced tonight that I would be the one doing the speech and continued to say I was also getting the reward of Honor Student, Valedictorian, and Most Recognized student of my year.

I go in Monday to get all the paper work and to start on my speech..

So, what do yall think?

Also, I know some people are going to say what I should tell my year, so what do you suggest on that?

I'm gonna ask the principle if he will allow me to do a few 'shout outs' or something of that sense and of course I am going to have it taped so I'm debating on what I can do to really make it worth it, without loosing my title of course. <3

My friend got gypped on receiving that honor and I got gypped on receiving salutatorian. We both took harder classes that the people in front of us did not take. I should have been second instead of fifth in my class.

Back to your graduation. Make your speech good. One of my other friends did a speech (anyone could do one) and he brought up some of the drama that was going on at the time (without mentioning names) and I'm sure it made people think about their lives and future. Make sure yours connects with your fellow students.

Also, don't cry while giving the speech. Or lose your spot/train of thought.

Hell yea dude, I've always taken the top classes I can and I always pull in the best grades. Its kinda something I have to do or I can't live with myself, since I know I can always do better and if I don't, then its not good enough.

Thats what I'm trying to work on but I don't know what aspect I wish to hit it all from. I have to go and see a lady on monday to get examples of previous speeches and the such, but I want something original, something that will be remembered.

The hell with that, it will be a great moment but I don't fold under pressure, I always tend to do better at those times. :D

Heh, I could do that but I do want it to be professional really. I don't want something thats all about bullshit, but rather something that will be regarded as a great accomplishment. ^.^

Congratulations on being valedictorian of your class. Its a pretty big honour, and I'd be proud of it.

As for the speech, I was named valedictorian of my university faculty's graduating class, and in my speech I focused on the central theme of legacy. I guess my advice for a speech would be pick a theme and run with it.

Thanks man, I'm really proud of it. I've come a long way and to finish with this honor, its truly a great finish. :D

Got ya, and congrats on that! I'm trying to really come up with something I can go with but I'm finding it hard to focus on one thing more than another. I have done so much to get this far and I have so much left to do before I am finished.. I am to be getting advice on it from a professional soon enough though so I will wait and see what she says about it when I see he Monday.

Haha, I don't know about all that. I don't have a reason to be an admin, though I would hope I could be some day in the future maybe. I'm going to school next to get my major in Hardware Engineering, and a minor in Software Engineering.

If Tom has a need for one when I am done then I would be more than happy to help him out and join the staff! :)

A friend of mine basically used big words to say Fuck You to everyone in the school.

The speech was truly epic and i'll always remember it, you should try to emulate something like that, maybe put it at the end, whip together a few words that are basically saying "I'M SO GOD DAMN GLAD I WILL NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH MOST OF YOU ASSHOLES ANYMORE" except with a more subtle tone ;)

Aww, thanks. I know what you mean though, I have to do this in front of so many people and I've never given this type of speech before. I know its gonna be somewhat hard for me to get in front of everyone at first and all but thats alright, at least it will be good memories. :D

Hehe, that sounds like a plan really and I think I could word something right to make this happen. Mainly considering I am only friends with a select few who attend my school. I could honestly care less about what people would have to say about me or to me after I graduate and all since I will be done forever, but I would hate to have them remove all my awards because I said something fucked up and they caught on. :P
