theres a company called 'vintage' that makes really good value for money guitars, mostly replicas of mainstream brands. ive tried quite a few, they all sounded and looked exelent

Yeah it is nice to have top of the line shit. I paid $100 for my guitar in 1990. I play the fuck out of it, everyday. And everyday it makes me smile..
Check around for used crap. A lot of people HAVE to have top of the line shit to start...and then find out..it really isn't what they wanna do...so only play for half a year or something...and then ditch their crap in local classifieds or pawn shops for cheap.
