STARFOX ADVENTURES was the BEST FUCKING GAME on the Gamecube.
Yeah well, maybe it had to fight with a few other titles, but that game was pretty much sweet. It was for the GC what Banjo Kazooie was for the N64 in platforming. Geniously nice. And the graphics where "crazy" as well ... for the GC that is.
Graphics alone do not sell a game. Gameplay and dialogue wise, it was mediocre.
First off, it doesn't take ten minutes to climb a ladder.
Second, the sounds used were extremely generic. I felt like I was an an old 80's cartoon. This also applies to the overuse of grunts and, in some cases, voices.
Third, OH MY GOD, the dialogue was terrible. I never hated a character as much as I do Tricky. He was one of the most useless sidekicks I have ever encountered in gaming who would never shut the hell up. Whoever wrote the dialogue did not think very thoroughly, that, and the actors should have done a better job.
Fourth, it pissed me off that I couldn't fight Scales. I was amped as hell to fight him and all that bastard does is just die. The final fight with Andross threw me off because you fought in the Arwing, which was only about 5% of the total game that involved flying, so really, what did you prepare for running around on a planet.
Fifth, The fact that once you get far enough into the game, it's pretty much impossible to get a Game Over, is just boring as hell. Get enough of those fuzzball creatures and your pretty much set. What the fun in that if you pretty much can't die? Actually, while I'm at it, the Game Over sequence was pathetic. 3 notes and he falls, whoopee...
Sixth, Krystal. I honestly have no problem with her. She has a great role. But you know what happens if you put any female anthromorph in a story, you gonna get porn of it (you know my stand on this. Just look at my sig).
Pay in mind, the game has it's high points. You probably know them, you probably don't. I'm done ranting.
