I'm considering buying a 360...

Just one of the basic ones, so I can play a few games like dead rising and GOW. I don't plan on getting the xbox live, but people often say that this is the best thing about 360s. But I have a PS3 so it wouldn't be worth paying for the online, but if the single players shite bar for those two games, it's not worth getting the whole thing.

So what do you guys think? Is a 360s single player generally good? Or should I stick to the PS3?

er... im not sure what to say, really.. i mean, im an avid xbox fan, so i wouldnt have bought the ps3 in the first place... but probably the greates thing about xbox is XBL.. the playstation's online play just sucked, to be quite honest, and i know it costs money, but £40 p/year isnt very much. also.. you'll get halo.. (lol, probly the only reason i bought and xbox.)

I have honestly played both, while PS3 doesn't have as good as games as 360, it has the best graphics and will eventually have great games....

If you can play GoW with your friends and not have that urge to play them online then don't get it. Unless you can handle that then don't get it.

I must say though UMK3 on 360 is extremely fun, but I don't know what arcade games are on PS3 online store.

Anyway, it's all about personal preference.

It's a good thing that you have a PS3, but if you have enough money to buy a 360, then go ahead!

I would say go for the Wii because of the RROD rates on the 360's, but at the end of the day, it depends on the type of games you like. Judging on your taste for games, then go for a 360!

He most likely bought the PS3 version already. They're both the same, except the online play on the PS3 version, is of course, free.

Just cause online is free doesn't mean the online will always be reliable. also the difference is controls(A little bit more better on 360 then ps3)

I had the game, it never lagged...at all. As a matter of fact, I NEVER experienced online difficulties like what 360-owners say. Also, the controls are the same on both consoles. I'm awesome on the PS3 version, but when I played the 360 version with a friend, he kicked my ass because I'm not used to the controller. It's just a matter of preference, not which version is better.

Anyways, I'd say you can't go wrong with a 360. It's got plenty of great single player experiences, though I feel like you are definitely missing something without Xbox Live. If you already have a PS3, though, I don't know how big a difference the lack of online is going to make. Depends on what games you have, really.

Personally, I think you should look at exclusive games that you think are good. If there's easily over ten good ones, go for it. If you struggle, then try for another ten and think about it.

The 360 is totally a worthwhile investment for single player games. Get Bioshock, Crackdown, Lost Odyssey, and Earth Defense Force 2017. You will not be disappointed.

I'm not sure if you can buy XBLA games without a paying Xbox Live account, but if you can, there are also plenty of great single player XBLA games too. Geometry Wars is a must-buy.

Well, though multiplayer is normally a very large part of Xbox games, many games for the Xbox are fun without multiplayer and are crazy fun in single player. I mean, Dead rising, GOW, GTAIV, Assassins creed, and more. Just be careful as to what games you buy, some like Halo 3 (and ESPECIALLY games like Team Fortress 2) are mostly or almost completley multiplayer.... But I say go for it!

dead rising and gow are awesome. only games good on live are cod4 and gta but youve got a ps3 for that. get the xbox for the 360 exclusives and keep ur ps3 for live. simple really lol.
