Communism fails because I'm working hard to become something which will hopefully earn me money, and help me live in comfort. With communism everyone is equal, no matter how hard you try. It's a flawed system even on paper.

It would not be utopia because communism needs a leader with supreme control in order to work. Otherwise people would manage to better themselves to break the equality. Also, a government cannot be trusted with the responsibility of controlling an entire country. If they make one mistake, people starve. Also, you need to wait on a line for hours and get the crappiest bare essentials instead of going to the store and getting what you want. People are individuals with their own wants and needs which a communist country cannot give them. Only capitalism can allow individualism. The one-size-fits-all approach that communism offers never works.
