I rarely ever see people from where I come from hold a door open for someone, pull out someones chair, help someone with their belongings or a simple problem they have, please/thank you, etc.

I'm a gentleman when I'm out on a date - I hold open doors, pull out her chair, pay for the meal, etc.
But when I'm just hanging out, I'm still conscientious (I mean, I still hold doors open for people) but it's just me being nice, as opposed to me being chivalrous.

Gentleman are so rare that i actually fine it weird for a guy to hold a door open for me. But only for a second. My next thought is "aw what a nice guy." If guys just did nice stuff like that some girls wouldn't be such assholes.
