Why is everyone's so good? D;
Well, I gave it a shot, I suppose. It won't be good enough though... XD
The opening song bit is from an Audio Portal song: -Childhood-, by Waterflame.
Well, the first one I made had a background picture of a crescent moon, which I really liked. However, I realized soon after that it was perhaps a tiny bit too similar to the Dreamworks logo (you know, the animation studio). So, I went back and made another background image.
HERE'S VERSION ONE!
HERE'S VERSION TWO!
If you had to pick one, which one looks better?

Man, I havn't fiddle-farted around with flash in awhile, but those 14 bux sure sound enticing... XD Whatev, I'll submit mine for later laughs.
Question: Is there any specific reason alotta people are using blue and green? Is that your "Standard" color or...? Cuz my idea would be... less effective with the added green, imo

Also I just looooove the audio for the intro it's so dreamy...and it works (lol).
Better what I can do but I think the audio is too spiky xD if you get what I mean try using something like a piano or something softer, like this but thats in my opinion. =D

Most of the posted ones are really ugly. All of them are very uncreative.
I will make one for you later today if I have the time.

Well in terms of them being ugly I would have to disagree with some part in that but in terms of uncreative I would agree, only one got close and well it was badly animated.

Pretty good. I like the colors and the font, and the entry of the text is nice as well, but not very smooth.

Like you said, the crescent moon really makes it too similar to Dreamworks "intro" animation. I like this one though, you've made good use of masking. The only thing that I think could have been better is the fade out, it seems to cut just a little bit early. I'm also not sure about a background image, maybe it would be better with just the text, but I'm gonna do like I do with some of the other entries and imagine a version without it when I judge ;)
vato
Definitely some bonus points for originality to you :) The only thing I can complain about here is that many of the cog wheels would in fact not work the way they are placed ;)

Not that that I know of at least, maybe it's simply because they are typical web 2.0 colors. There aren't really any color restrictions though, so feel free to use whatever works best for your idea :)

Music is a plus, if it fits of course, but not a necessity.

Very nice but when the bubble comes by it seems a bit laggy, fix that and I think you have a high chance =D

Thanks! I already deleted the FLA because I knew I didn't have a chance, but it was fun to make anyway. Good luck with picking an intro, these are all really good in their own respects.

That is a nice effect, but it does still seem very 'laggy' :/
A little heads up folks, the deadline is in just about two hours (4pm NG-time). I will announce the winner(/winners ;] ) in half an hour after that.

Hey there. I hope I made it in time for the deadline. Anyways, I know that this is similar to a few of the others, but, as with ReNaeNae, I never meant to rip anybody off.
By the way, my brother (Mike) already submitted his own intro. This is the same account, but a different person.
Enjoy!

You're in time, with almost half an hour to spare ;)
The intro animation you did there was very good. I guess though that you have taken inspiration for the colors from the banner on my profile, and the truth is that I've never really liked how those looked ;P Apart from that, and the slightly over-filtered "productions", it's actually really nice though :)

Yes, I did take inspiration from your banner colors, but it's very easy to change, so any color would work.
Also, I couldn't decide whether the productions filter was too much or not. Guess I know now.

Sorry about the delay, this took a little while to write together
I have said it before, I know, but I have been very happily surprised by the quality you guys have been able to bring forward in such very short time. I'm also happy to see that, while many of the entries were pretty similar, some pretty creative ones also were made.
Now, judging all of these entries has definitely not been an easy task; Most of the intros has at least something about them that I really liked, and that has also caused me to feel that only using one of these would be a major waste. Therefore I've decided to throw in a small prize for a second and third intro as well! :)
And now, without further ado, here are the final results:
#1 - ReNaeNae! Wins $13.97
There is not much to say here, even though there were many entries that were possible candidates for the first place, the professional look and three great sound effects made this a favorite of mine since I first saw it. Congrats ReNaeNae! :)
#2 - salted-tator-tot! Wins $10.00
STT was the first one to enter the competition, and he directly set a high standard for it. The people of NG seemed to like his entry, I was no exception, and it was enough for a second place!
#3 - vato! Wins $5.00
He based his idea around the alias, and made one of the more creative entries for this contest. That earns vato the third place!
I will contact all the winners by PM
So yeah, that's it. A huge thanks to everybody who participated, and I hope that people who didn't make it into the top three still can be happy for those who did ;)

Cool! ...glad you liked it (them)! But I won't be able to live with myself knowing poor little salted-tator-tot is being deprived of a penicorn, so please give him the extra $2 he needs, and the rest can go to GuyWithHisComp (for his honesty :P) ...or El-Presidente (so he won't hate me :P) ...or just keep it! Thanks :D
I'll send a pm with a link to the .fla
