Natural selection is random. Those who don't reproduce die out it's as simple as that; evolution can go both ways, it's not always going to get better with time. Natural selection serves to cull the downward trend of evolution (the weak die out), thus contributing to an upward trend in general.

I believe that human evolution has been slowed significantly because of our social lifestyle - the weak are protected under the law. It can even be argued that we are undergoing 'devolution' as people in poorer countries (having less education) reproduce more than those in wealthier (more educated) nations. But then again, people in western countries don't normally reproduce with those in African countries. So I guess Humanity could split into two as evolution goes.

I just want to point out that there is no such thing as devolution. Devolution means something completely diffrent unrelated to evolution.

This is because evoltion isn't something you can change back. It's kinda like the word "move". You cannot move forward and then "unmove" back. You simply have to move back again, so you move both times.

Evolution is the same. You can't devolve to something worse. Even if the results is worse under some conditions, it's still called evolution, both ways.

In about a hundred years, Christians will claim that Christianity was the champion of gay rights and science.

I'm not calling it "bad" or that homosexuals should be discriminated against; I'm just calling it for what it is.

Not everybody believes in evolution either and no I dont believe in christianity either.
So let me get this straight.

If you're against homosexuality for religious reasons, you're a nut or 'that's not good enough'.

If you're against homosexuality for biological reasons, it's "Not everyone believes in evolution".

Shit.

Just for the record: how on earth can you be against homosexuality?

I mean, you can't be against something which simply happens without being able to do anything about it. It's not like we could vote out homosexuality and no homosexuals would be born anymore. Though that would be cool (I'd definitely vote for the disappearance of illness), it is simply unrealistic.

For the rest: take this argument wherever you want. I'm gay and have seen this argument perhaps a hundred times already. I'm not even going to get into this. Have fun arguing. :)

Why do you try to explain something yet unexplainable by logic, with something absolutely illogic and by its very nature unexplainable? What's the purpose of that nonsense?

Well, they are people, they just think differently. Besides, the government of Canada allowed gay marriage, and now so does California's. It would be about how humans are in general. Humans and dolphins are some of the smartest animals on the planet. And being smart, that means that both humans and dolphins are able to do it for fun, instead of what other animals do it for, which is purely for offspring. This can also create gays in the species, and believe it or not, there can be gay dolphins out there. It's only because we humans are too smart and are able to think deeper thoughts. As for the theory of "gay at birth", scientists still haven't proven anything about that, so while you wait, you might as well read I Am America(And So Can You!), in chapter 7, which is the homosexuals part.
