Honestly, I think the friends you meet online are the best ones you'll ever have. I mean, you can't physically chill out and have a beer with them, but you'll have a better time with them, no doubt.
I've been with a group of people since my younger days, I met them through a game called MOHAA. (Damnedest of places to meet people, huh?) Ever since, we've kept contact through Teamspeak, Ventrilo, and emails. And these really are the greatest people I've ever met. With them you can share anything, do anything, and they don't judge.
The best part about internet friends is that they're not involved with the drama in your life, therefor they can never do anything to fuck up and/or piss you off. It's perfect. And who's to say internet friends can never be as close to you as RL friends? The community I take part in is always there for eachother, helping with problems, giving advice, even helping financially.
And honestly, because the internet is so vast, I believe you have a much better chance to meet someone cool and admirable here, than if you walked down to your local mall or supermarket.
So anyway, Newgrounds, what are your thoughts here?
