It's a TV show in Britain.
It's just a panel comedy show where the points go to the funniest team as opposed to the correct ones. Has a lot of stand ups on as guests and theres like Stand Up rounds and improv rounds and stuff.

Dara O'Birian's show was on BBC2 tonight 'No Agenda' I think it was called.
I thought it was grand (to use an Irish expression :)). Lol'd lots of times, didn't expect him to be that funny, despite his credible TV background I wasn't sure if he'd be that great on stage.

Haven't heard of any of them (except for Dane Cook... but thats only because he gets bitched about in here a lot).
But thats irrelevant, I'm sure others in the club will be aware of them (the Yanks amoung you), so welcome :).

I kinda forgot about this place. needs to be bumped. I can't recall seeing much standup since I last posted here except for Jim Norton's Monster Rain, which was really funny.

I've been watching loads recently:
Ross Noble
Geroge Carlin
Sean Lock
Russell Howard
Richard Herring (might be going to see him in about two weeks :))
Bill Bailey
Ed Byrne
Jerry Seinfeld

I really hope to see Richard, it'd be a great intimate gig seeing as he's pretty much nobody. But he's very similar to Stewart Lee (seeing as they were a duo back in the 90s). There is some good stuff of him on Youtube, him dealing with a heckler in a clever way, as opposed to being a ponce and shouting. And also him '... on the New Testament'.

There are lots of Carlin HBO specials on Google Video too, so I've got three of those now :).

Have other comedians been stealing his jokes? So, I'm thinking either he steals 'em or people steal 'em from him.

I don't think Ed would steal from others. British alt comedians have respect :P.

Omid Djalili?
I didn't see the Live at the Apolla thing, but his stand up show was on Channel 4 about 4 or 5 weeks ago.
I don't think I watched it all, I don't remember being overly impressed.

I remember watching a show of his about a month ago. It was pretty good. He's really energetic and great at accents. But I think the Apollo performance was better. I don't know, I'll look further cos he seems interesting.

It was probably the same one I mentioned then. I think it was on a week before Dara O'Birian's one. Dara's was good :).

I just don't think I'm into that style of comedy. I don't have anything against him because he's not doing the kind of bland stand up people like Alan Carr and Russell Brand do, but I just don't really care for that Omid talks about.

I was at my friend's house and I saw an episode of some new standup show hosted by Jim Norton. It was pretty funny and Lemmy from Motörhead was on it .

Part 3
Part 4
I think there´s supposed to be a part 5, but i haven´t seen it uploaded yet :(

Another great stand up comedian that i like is Ross Noble, who also went on Live at the Apollo. Check him out....
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

The best thing about Ross is that no two shows are the same. The level of improv. in his shows is fucking unbelievable.
This is a good little show of his ("Madonna! Dorn't put cayke ont floor!"):
Ross Noble: Fizzy Logic in Manchester, Part 1
Ross Noble: Fizzy Logic in Manchester, Part 2
Ross Noble: Fizzy Logic in Manchester, Part 3

He's actually touring now, I'm definately going to see him so long as tickets don't sell out between now and when I get my student loan.
Might see him a couple of times in fact, playing Leeds (which is next to Huddersfield (where I'm at uni)) and in Blackpool, which is where I'm from :).

He´s great. He talks so much shit, but he´s so damn funny at the same time. I mean, who else could talk 4 minutes about tucking in an owl and make you laugh that much XD

It's handy that he can talk about nothing and make it good, seeing as he never gets around to doing the material he plans on, it'd be awful if what he ranted about wasn't funny. Not the case.

He actually fell off his moped at a bus stop in front of a friend of mine as Newcastle uni. Lucky bitch :(.

True. He´ll start to talk about something then just jabber on about something completely different, then after 5-10 minutes he´ll go back to what he should have been talking about, lol.

lol, he could do a whole show about that.

I don't mind him. Comedy in music is fun for a while, but it gets tiresome quickly.

Those Ross Noble videos were insane! He's the best. Also watched Bill Bailey's Part Troll, and found it quite good. I prefered Ross Noble just because I find it funnier, though Bill Bailey is obviously more clever.

Watched some Dylan Moran. Wasn't too impressed.

Ross is brilliant. I believe he lives in your native Australia too.
And I prefer to Bill too. Though its hard for me to say that as I'm very fond of both of them.

I like Dylan's stand up. He's better on stage than on TV in my opinion.

I think Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran are both great comedians. Moran has definitely become a favorite of mine. Maybe Bailey, too. I have to see more of his stuff. I don't care much for Ross Noble. I find him mildly entertaining, but for me, he gets boring and more ridiculous than funny. Also, I got one of my friends into Dylan Moran

So, I saw Louis C.K's new standup performance. I think it was called "Chewed Up". It was hilarious. And I saw another episode of Jim Norton's new show, which I believe it's called "Down and Dirty with Jim Norton". I was surprised to see Andrew Dice Clay at the end. He was okay, but the other comedians were better. It was pretty good. And apparently. Lemmy is a regular on the show as musical accompaniment.

Maybe, but he is still great as Bernard Black as is Bill Bailey in his role on Black Books.

Swings and round-a-bouts :).

He's a bit of a dick, I think. Anyone who says "BADDA BOOM" after a joke should be shot.

Maybe, but he is still great as Bernard Black as is Bill Bailey in his role on Black Books.

The shows growing on me but I still don't accept it as brilliant. I think Bill is better live and on Spaced. Tamsin is better on Green Wing and Graham was better on Father Ted.

In my opinion, best stand up comedian is Christopher Titus. He flies a little under the radar, but he's really funny. If you like stories about falling into bonfires, go rent Norman Rockwell is Burning.

I just youtubed him and he´s ok, but he´s very American. Maybe a bit too American for me. I dunno if it´s just me, but i find to tend British comedians funnier.

A great comedian i used to love that i haven´t seen much of lately is Lee Hurst. He used to be on the ´They think it´s all over´ sports/comedy show.

He also did a few stand up shows that i used to have on tape and were great, but i can´t find anything on youtube apart from this video which is a part of ´the best 100 stand up comedians´, in which he´s 67th :(
There´s only about a minute of him on there, but he´s great none the less.

Titus is a great comedian. I have Norman Rockwell is Bleeding. His tv show was great, too, though in my opinion, Zack Ward and Stacey Keach stole the show.
