One of the worst games I can think of would have to be Robotron 2000 (I think that's the name of it) for the N64. My brother rented it once, and it was terrible. Maybe it wasn't so bad when the original came out though.

Worst game ever...hmm, well obviously they are old games, but for current games, probibly Halo. Thats only because i was expecting it to be revolutional and having qualities no other FPS have. Not the worst, but worst game to what it was said to be for me.

I agree with you to an extent there.
I would have enjoyed Halo alot more had it not been so overhyped. I was honestly expecting some kind of revolutionary experience after hearing so much about the game, things such as.. "The greatest FPS ever made" and things of the like. So many magazines praised and so many of the X-Box kids only spoke of Halo, so I figured, "Damn, this must be one seriously good game"
About a year later I played it and I was shocked. THIS is the big magnificent Halo? This is the incredible greatest FPS ever? Hardly. To be honest with you I had a better time Timesplitters 1 on the PS2, and that game was rushed, the makers even admitted to rushing the game. Halo is a good experience in the single player mode, and while the Multiplayer is freaking awesome, its not as great as everyone put it. Minutes later I went back online to play more endless hours of Counterstrike and Team Fortress.
In the end I thought that Halo failed to meet the hype, which is why I didnt enjoy it as much as I should have. Personally I think Halo got such praise because it was the only good X-Box game at the time.
Playing with the X-Box controller made things worse, Im sorry but some FPS are better with a mouse.

Barney's hide and seek for the genesis. That game was very boring. The gameplay is about finding kids and gifts. And the biggest problem about the game is that you can't kill barney! For example, When you try to make barney jump off a cliff, He says, "Stop! Wait until it's safe!"

GoodFellow, you said it perfectly. Had the game been released on the computer first, then i would have given it more credit. (much easier controls) but then again, there was not a whole lot of complicated things you can do in Halo, so a whole keyboard would be useless, although the mouse is supiour over any controller.

Legend Of Dragoon. I had very high expectations and was shocked at the garbage squaresoft managed to produce. Fortunately, they released Chrono Cross a few months later, which was incredible.

I'd been playing FPS with controllers for years before I first played one with a mouse. Only when you finally use the mouse do you realize how perfect it controls.
Dont get me wrong though. Some games control REALLY WELL with controllers. The Medal Of Honor games for example had spot on control for the consoles and fits well because of the pace of the gameplay. However, a Controller would do horribly with a game such as Counterstrike which demands spot on control.

The mouse is usually better, but the controls for Metroid Prime were awesome.

NES: Totally Rad. Play this one if you're bulimic.
SNES: Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, it just was a sub-par game on a par-excellence system.
N64: Donkey Kong 64. You go back and forth between two spots, usually "somewhere near banana" and "tag barrel", to get most of the bananas. Fucking boring.
GCN: Animal Crossing. Chores are not fun. You'd think that'd be a rather basic concept.
PS1: Final Fantasy 8. Don't know why the heads of Square would let such a retarded engine through.
PS2: MetropolisMania. With graphics worse than FF7 (no, that's not a typo), an engine far worse than SimCity, translation half as bad as Zero Wing, the world's most retarded storyline (if you don't build a successful city, then humans go extinct. Seriously.) and a badly implemented twist (talking to citizens isn't that bad an idea so long as you have more than a dozen possible conversations), it's easy to see why this one is bat shit.
GB: QIX. Building rectangles while avoiding lines and dots might have passed on the Atari, but not on the same system as SML and LOZ:LA.
GBA: Just about everything.

That game was hailed by X-Box fanboys because they were jealous of GTA3 I heard.

Columns on Sega Genisis... you know that game where there's these 3 blocks that comes down from the top of the screen every couple or so seconds (tetris stylez) and you have to get 3 colours in a row.. and it pissed meoff coz' it would give you all these colour's, and the computer knew that all you needed was one yellow block... but it wouldn't give youa block, and like it kept giving you all these different fkn coloured blocks... and your like.. 'just gimme a fkn yellow block you tight ass fkn genisis control system!!!' and yeh... that's why i hated it :-)
Anthony Mundine has pink gloves.... best FNR4 (PS3) punching bag ever!

I think all FPS are easier with a mouse. They definitely are with me. I have the mouse on the left (I'm left handed) and the arrow keys on the right, and all the good junk in between... allows for very quick reactions.
Anyway, the worst games I've played are the side-scrolling shooters/fighters. They are really terrible. I know that they're old, so a lot can't be expected from them, but they really get redundant -- you've played one, you've played them all.
Also, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire was the worst FPS I've ever played (it also had some space-ship fights in it... don't get me wrong, I loved Rouge Squadron, but everything about SotE sucked).
And I can't see why people like Battlefield 1942 so much... Wolfenstein ET is 1,000 times better.
