What brand/hardness of charcoals do you use?
I have derwent somethings, and I hate them because all I can ever get is a straight black, no matter how lightly I press...

The fact that someone can do charcoal dosent mean they can do equivilent quality work in pencil. Charcoal and pencil and two completly differnt methods, one is tight, slow, and meticulous, while the other utilises broader strokes and much more movement of the media on the paper (your turn to guess which is which). While both can yield similar results, they are two seperate methods of reaching that same result.

I think it would help establish your credibility if your were to do a quick sketch of say, a Warcraft creature/character.

I think if she wanted to ruin her credibility she should do a warcraft character sketch. She seems to be good at portraits, of actual people, stick to those and develope intresting compositions from that subject, instead of delving into the realm of mediocratiy of drawing video game characters.

Alright, you are just trying to start an argument, I and other people I know that use charcoal, also have decent pencil drawing skills, They are different mediums, but if one is seriously using pencil for a finished work the methods are very similar. Also I suggested a Warcraft character because according to her sig, she is a Warcraft fan, I just want proof that she does indeed have the skill to have done these charcoal pieces. Relax man.
