And I still haven't learned a damn thing about making a successful thread or the "unwritten" rules so to keep this thread from being pointless please share your experiences in your first year on NG and how long it took you to be comfortable on the BBS.

This is probaly the most stupidest thing for me to say it, but I got to admit it.

I first found this site a loong time ago, like maybe back in 03 or 04. It was the collections page, I didnt know it was a live website and such.

Infact I had no clue how to register a name, and such. I thought you had to pay something too. So I was a fool for a year, or just forgetful.

I almost never make threads on the bbs. I find though this general forum is a great place to get a laugh, it really isn't a place to post a serious thread and expect serious responses. Because of that I've kind of never had the urge to post threads on the bbs, but I do love coming here for its comedic value.

The serious posts in General are the funnest of all in my opinion. It's like no matter what someones gonna ridicule you for one reason or another.

Thanks for the hint so I'll return with a fun fact: I had worked 2 jobs and at each getting 40 hours a week until recently I quit one beacuse I was forced to serve expired food and I have more pride in my culinary skills than to pull that bullshit so I quit.
I also have friends and a GF of over a year so it's far from what you say "waste your life" beacuse I manage to pay my own bills and have fun IRL.

From my experience, I've seen that you mostly need a high post count and a lot of high post count friends. Any thread that williwowza's crew makes is guaranteed at least 2 pages.

It's pretty easy... basically don't post in most of the thread in the General, act smart, don't spam and lurk a lot before you post ;)

There's a lot of things to learn but only a few people actually do learn them. You should always try to act naturally yet follow other's example...
