I never said those shows were original, ONCE AGAIN, i gave EXAMPLES of shows that follow the same CONTEXT. Naruto's concept isnt original, neither is Family guy, or robot chicken. If you want better examples how about Monty Python instead or robot chicken? How about Yu Yu Hakusho instead of Naruto? Or how about any Chris Farley movie instead of family guy? How little I know? You OBVIOUSLY don't understand the point i was trying to get across. So, for the last time, I used examples off the top of my head, without citing the possibility of it being original or not, just used as an EXAMPLE of the basis of animated flash movies.

As for some of your members getting into the animation industry, fine i know some of your members, and some have talent, but when a star is stuck in shit, its harder for it to shine.

Yeah, well, people like you and Sinister (by which I mean people with amazing talents who, for some reason, love spamming, if this is f0d I'm talking to as is usually on that account) seem to be the people who dislike Alvin the most, and who think his popularity is undeserved. Perhaps it is undeserved, with him putting together a story based on a popular TV show with graphics copied from a Mario game, and getting his high scores based purely on popular reference points, while you guys work on a fairly original animation for months and see it get a lower score than it probably deserves. As far as Shrums, the only time I was made aware of him was during the co-author exploit when he co-authored Alvin on a spam movie, so I won't claim to know about his skills even what little I know about yours or Sinister's.

But I will admit, I did kinda like SMBZ. Yeah, yeah, total ripoff of all the other stuff out there, but when you don't want to think too much a movie like that, where you understand all the references, is OK to watch.

well, good. i'm glad the series will be finished someday, i don't care what anyone says. i don't see why everyone's making a big deal over it being made with sprites. if it's entertaining, who cares how it's made? i mean seriously, did randy solem get this much flak back when 'Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom' was popular? do fanfiction authors get bashed this badly because of what they do? why can't people be allowed to do what they want?

There's always going to be haters for any popular artist. There will also always be people who are jealous of an artist's popularity, when in their own minds (and, to be fair, in the mids of other people as well, including other artists) they are so much better than the artist in qustion. And there will be crazy and annoying fanboys who pester the artist about when his next piece is coming out. In Alvin's case, there were just so many haters like some Star Syndicate members, some good enough to have a legitimate claim to greater popularity, some just mindless haters and trolls. But it was the crazy fanboys that pushed him over the edge for a moment, I think.

As we said earlier, sprite movies have a reputation for being very, very bad - which precedes the concept of SMBZ. It's like when people groan every time they hear Uwe Boll is making another film, and someone asks "What's the big deal? If its entertaining, who cares whos directing it?".

It's also a combination of two franchises - Mario and Sonic - which to some is fulljoy overload and to others is cynical manipulation of the fanbases. Lord knows quite a few of us are guilty of trying to cram lots of different products into one movie or game to try and gain e-popularity - Alvin just took two of the more notoriously fan-backed products and meshed them together. With sprites. And succeeded.

The fact that the end result was of a tremendous level of quality made the whole ordeal worse - while people are quick to forget about Generic Crossover Sprite Movie #345, Alvin (ALLLLLLLVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN) made 6 of these things (and an intended intro) with a coherent continuity. Thus, the fans got hungry for more and the flamers got angrier.

I love how people bash Alvin and SMBZ because their jealous. :D

yeah, i see what you mean... i just wish people would not lump all sprite movies into the same category. there's good sprite movies and bad sprite movies, just like with any other kind of flash, whether it be stick, tweened symbol, or fbf.
