Preloaders are looking good, sir.

Finished by Pico Day flash, with the sexy new preloader. Now all I have to do it wait ten days to submit it. I hope most of the submissions are about Pico, even if Pico Day is now supposed to be about a bunch of other stuff too.

I hope this isn't a dumb idea, but I made a topic on it anyway.

I think there should be an API for game developers here on NG. That way we could earn achievements for the games we play and maybe chat with people on our contacts list. There could even be multiplayer features similar to xbox live. Maybe not as complex, but enough so that we could play with our friends and keep track of our ranking.

It would take NG way above sites like kongregate and any other flash game site.

Okay so.

I've done everything properly.

And I have dragged NG_AD_OBJECT onto my timeline.

So now I have this big fat black newgrounds logo which spawns popup windows taking up almost the whole screen for the whole flash cartoon.

....

So....how are people supposed to watch the cartoon with this big black ng_ad_object billboard blocking their vision?

Or is that the whole point of this thing?

it's a combo preloader/ad viewer

when you press play the preloader animation will play, cut out the ad, then continue playing the main timeline

For flash 5 and MX, you put the NG_API_OBJECT across your whole timeline. The AD object just goes on the frame you want... if you put THAT across your movie, you will SEE it across your whole movie.
