correct thread title : buying world of warcraft sucks
the game itself is the erection of our generation
it was never good in the first place so yeah
First off, it's 14.99 a month, and that's if you pay 1 month at a time. Second, it's worth it if you play alot and what you're paying for are the almost bi-weekly updates and major content patches they are constantly slaving away on. You will be able to play the game forever because of that. It's not for everyone. I recently quit because raiding required too much of my time, but it's certainly fair that they charge a monthly fee, especially since it keeps with the normal 14.99 price of MMOs even though it is by far the most subscribed to.
You suck for not knowing you had to pay monthly.
Yeah, whatever.

Constantly releasing new patches? Hahahahahhahaha.
They release a new patch every two months. Most of the time those patches are not even interesting... Also I wish NO ONE to play World of Warcraft forever. Quitting this game is the best thing a man can do. Also... this thread should be in the Video Game Forums, not in the General Forum.
WoW is a bad game either way, not even worth a dime.
The stories of addictions I've heard is somewhat disturbing to me.
It's a good "excuse" of a game for softcore bastard gamers.

I'll never ever even consider playing World of Warcraft.
Agreed, brother.

HEY! My mother and father were so married...
...to other people, maybe...
The deal with WoW attracting so much gamers, in my opinion, it's because it's the only MMORPG that captures the elements of D&D and generic fantasy RPGs. Since D&D is a very popular table game, imagine the public it would attract if you took it's elements to a MMO.
But in my personal opinion, it's too much shit to be a game. Games should be something entertaining and enjoyable; not something in which you have to spends hours and hours and lots of money for it to be fun.

First off I know that you are a respected person in this community, so I know my 'low post count' marks me as a noob. That aside, hear me out. It is apparent that you no longer, or ever have played WoW, so how would you know when the patches are released. Bi-weekly is the average, and many times its three times a month. Also, the content patches provide new content and bug fixes, but are FREE. Recently, Patch 2.4 was released, which provided a vast amount of new content. About as much as a regular console game might have. And guess what, it was free. Trust me, I know that the monthly fee is hefty, but considering the amount of content you recieve, it is worth it.
Also, I wish NO ONE ot play World of Warcraft forever doesn't make sense.

That's true. There's a enourmous market out there for equally huge games that have loads to do. Problem is, that gets corrupted by the greedy bastards who design these games into a "level system" that makes the really good stuff only available to the absolute best; and so, people end up obsessing over killing that last silver dragon to get the Steel Half Plate of the Obese Lion, instead of doing more important things... like posting on the BBS.
theres a fee because you play it for so long and do so much, and keeping severs up isn't exactly cheap.
christ.

thats a moronic crackpot theroy.
the leveling system was invented long before pay fees and such.
it was invented by D&D for Odin's sake.

To the thread creator, you my fair sir are the most unintelligent person to walk on the face of the Earth. First of all do some research about the games you want. Second, no shit Sherlock you need the original game to play the expansion, what are you going to do, prance around outland with your level one blood elf rogue? Finally, pretty much all MMOs have a monthly fee so read up for a bit and then buy a game.
Any views stated in the above are completely genuine. I do not regret what I say, and any accusations of trolling bear no truth. I state only my honest opinion.
HEY EVERYBODY LETS ALL JUMP ON THE "I HATE WORLD OF WARCRAFT" BANDWAGON AND MAKE COMPLETE ASSES OUT OF OURSELVES BY SAYING WOW IS GAY WITHOUT DOING ANY RESEARCH WHATSOEVER.

Agreed, although I don't know many people who can't go without it. In fact, I don't know anyone who's social reject enough to spend their days and nights eating Cheet-os and trying to PUG Black Morass.
Because I think that's a myth (mostly). Although I'm sure that there are people like that, I really don't think that the majority of WoW players are like that. In fact, i'd go so far as to say that it's likely less than 5%.
BUT WHO CARES, RITE? IF ONE PERSON IS LIKE THAT, EVERY PERSON IS LIKE THAT ROFL XD.
Christ.
Dude freaking make sure what you buy BEFORE you bring it home it might bite you sqare in the ass like just now...
Starfox!
Fuck all of you guys I just bought the game today, with the expansion...
...And still haven't played it. Oh well.
Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.
$19.99 a month to slaughter people for experience. ...MMORPG's suck, ok?
I dont like it, your mistake was considering buying it.
If you want a game with alot of updates...jesus christ, this kills me inside, Runescape updates once a week, plus tells you whats going to appear, and when. Its rare when they dont release something every week or make a news story everyweek.
For my next trick, I will need a condom and a volunteer.
yeah, what shame you can't pay once for a game thats constantly updated huh?

The money you pay for that game is insane, there are plenty of free games which offer the same basic game-play and interactivity, and leave you with more for less money. Think about it, $15 a month, for 12 months, is $110 dollars a year. That is pretty fucking insane.

thats why tf2 came in
man dude
How did you honestly not know that WoW had a huge ass monthly fee?
That's like not know that when you order food at a restaruant you have to pay for it.

WoW is full of updates and extremely good gameplay. No free game will ever compare to it.
