Ninja gaiden's original status bars, at the top of the screen, ripped off Castlevania.
Pong ripped off Colour TV Game 6.
Some enemies from ninja gaiden, castlevania and megaman all have the same moveset as the hammer bros.
The characters design of sonic was ripped off the enemies in SMB2 that look almost the exact same.
Shining Force ripped off Fire Emblem, and even had the feature of saving in hotels and getting healed in churches just as FF did.

That's all I can remember for now.

A lot of these games didn't "rip off" from other classic games they were merely inspired or improved.

Doom was released one year before marathon on windows computers in 1993.
Marathon was released in 1994 on macintosh computers.
Marathon was like Doom but way way way way way way way way better. Bungie made marathon, Bungie made Halo. Woot for Bungie, Woot for Marathon, no Woot for Doom.

Well, the firs game that we could call FPS was Wolfenstein 3d. But I agree that Doom defined that genre.

I heard of this tennis game where it featured sega characters. sonic, tails, some others. Its like Sega super star tennis or something and it completly rips off hte tennis games Nintendo makes. I guess the war hasnt ended yet.

Pretty much. Everyone around me however praised it or its originality (PS3 version, nobody heard about Wii version) because everyone around me is biased against Nintendo and Mario.

The biggest ripoff game I can think of is Darkwatch. The game was a complete ripoff of Halo. It has all the same ideas except Darkwatch was a western-themed game involving vampires. Darkwatch even had similar weapons to those of Halo. And then Darkwatch gave the player a "blood shield" that is identical to the Overshield in Halo. Do I need to go any further? Darkwatch = massive ripoff of one of the best X-Box games ever.
