Movie Project

I am doing a project for class with my friend. It's a movie. i was wondering if you guys had any (real) ideas for this topic:
Back to the Past

Back to the Future name copy

A normal present day (2008) guy (somehow) goes into the year 1942 and meets with a guy from 1942. (Somehow) they get back to the year 2008 and go through (some sort of) adventure to get back to their times.

Please actually help me out with some possible ideas by filling in the (some)'s in the summary!

A normal present day (2008) guy (is struck by lightning while listening to Powerman5000: When Worlds Collide) goes into the year 1942 and meets with a guy from 1942. (struck by lightning listening to themselves whistle the song stated above) they get back to the year 2008 and go through (research of the song, trying to learn it's secrets and getting hunt down by the SSO [sterotypically secret organization] as an) adventure to get back to their times.
