Hello Everyone!
I'm thinking to start a guitar challenge, the goal is ... hmmmm ... making musicians to interact more, to see some fresh concepts and to find some interesting guitar players and start eventually some colaborative projects.
The challenge is to record a solo on Arpegio Study Backing Track, not necesary arpegios, make your own stuff, get creative, then submit on NG your version (where you give credits for the backing track) and PM me or put the link here in that thread.
I made post on my page also.
Hope to see you interested about.
See you around

i am almost scared of this ideea
Metaljonus or Metalcan ... those guys are at a level way too professional compared to my tiny two chords tune.
some off topic ideea, how about having a "guitar topic" with tutorials, interviews with the most influential guitar players from NG and (Metaljonus, Metalcan, also you, Bad Man Inc. and a lot more),
discussions about guitar FX, amps, tehniques, how to get the guitar in the mix better, schredding, riffing ... stuff
i would love something like that

I'll shoot Metalcan an e-mail later today, when I'm not so tired, and see if he'd be interested.

It'd probably be shut down telling people to just go to the guitarist club in the Clubs & Crews section of the BBS. Though it would be pretty fun to have a comprehensive thread like that.

isn't normal to have that in "Audio" section ?
like for musicians to find it ... who would go on "Clubs & Crews "
for several years i'm on NG already and i NEVER was there ...

Haha, cool. I'm terrible at soloing. I might give this a crack. Tomorrow morning. If I can remember.

Is it that my speakers are broken, or did you separate the tune and your solo into completely separate speakers? Anyway, not bad man, though the ending could have used a bit of tweaking.

Ah alright, I just wanted to make sure my speakers were still working properly. I'll try and get to recording something today. I've been wanting to jam over it for a little while now.

YEEEEEeeeeeee....
i see interesting things here, more like i hear ... anyway
congratulations Gianfri, you did a nice solo
i like the ideea of having two guitars playing, one solo and the other completing the harmony
personaly i would go for a different mix, backing track in the middle and solos also, the improvisation middle-right (just a little) and the other line middle-left (also a little)
anyway, good work, i'll let you a review also
maby you should write in the presentation more things, giving a limk to here and stuff

I improvise a strange style of Fingerstyle/Freehand guitar
It sounds pretty neat, but i doubt it would be worthy of the guitar challenge ;-)
i don't solo much, i just play leads over rhythms
i know arpeggio's and scales, i just don't like to retune my guitar back to EADGBE
its in open tuning now

It seems like just two metal guitarists are being credited with all the soloing ability on this site which is silly. I dont deny that they're both great guitarits, but there loads of guitarists on this site just as good if not better. Metal music tends to give guitarists the ability to play fast solo's and take full advantage of licks etc but guitar isnt about "the faster you go the better you are". Jimi Page was just as good a guitarist as for example Dimebag Darrel. They both played guitar brilliantly in their chosen genres, and thats what its all about :)
