The article says the most valuable coins of that series are worth ~$20 thousand which is a far cry from being $14 million. Still, if you have some valuable coins then neat.

Scans look pretty damn good anyway. I did the same thing too. Scanned Morgan dollars. Use a transparent film so you don't scratch the scanner surface.

If they are illegal to own you should say that you destructed them and keep them in a secret place.
If you don't really have them (like some people assume) you should not do anything but feel good for cheating everyone on NG.

Coins are the new hot thing to invest in. 3 years ago my dad gave me a gold coin for high school graduation and it was worth like 400 dollars. Now gold is sitting around 900 dollars, and I'll be waiting until graduation to sell it. Hopefully it will be worth more by then.

Why not build a display case for them?
