Underground is typically better.
They may not be as talented, but without fame, they seem to try harder.
As a person who goes to alot of shows, the in between people tend to be the best.
On the subject of music, by the way.

I don't think it really matters... Most of the time underground will become mainstream as the fans increase...

Being a member of the underground sub-culture myself I would have to say I enjoy the underground way better than mainstream for when you are underground you can be much more unique than when you are into mainstream.Have you seen all of these mainstream "Gangsta" kids?They all look alike...With the buzzcut and the rainbow hoodies or what the fuck ever they wear...Then they will wear Dora the Explorer backpacks or some gay shit to school thinking "If I wear little kid stuff it makes me look more hardcore."..No it just makes you look stupid...In any case I believe the underground to be better.

I don't think you can tell people what underground culture is, the whole point is it tends to avoid mass appeal and mass awareness. We usualy don't find out about underground culture until the movement has been shifted into the mainstream at which point the movement dies.
Hippies, Punks, Emo, Goth etc. are all perfect example of a dead trends washed up on mainstream shores.

Agreeably so. Take into example, Holloween, Friday the 13th, Evil Dead ect. Eventually all of the underground will become mainstream as the fan base increases. Indie films are either good enough to become franchised films such as Friday the 13th or they're so horribly made that they'll be abandoned and forgotten forever such as Evil Behind You or Black Gate. It goes one way or another, frankly it doesn't matter much because they'll either become a big franchise or end up as a cult classic shit bomb film. So I'd have to say mainstream. Because thats where good indie films end up at.
