Jeepers! I was out of town this weekend, but it looks like the site had some issues. We've been getting hit hard by traffic - our single day rankings this weekend put us in the top 400 sites of the web! It's just completely INSANE!

So here is what we are currently doing... There are two new servers that will be getting hooked up very shortly. I just put in an order for FOUR MORE. We are looking for a new Database server as Wade said, but it is really hard to find one that supports more than 12 gigs of ram.

And the best news is that our bandwidth upgrade is scheduled for early this week. We will be jumping from 200mbps to 300!!!

This is the game JohnnyUtah and I have been working on.

Now that's what I like to hear! After being unable to do anything on Newgrounds for two days because of all the traffic, learning about new bandwidth upgrades is just about the best news on the planet. Thanks a ton, Tom, for making your website better with each passing month! Long live NG!

Seriously... you guys need to sell better merchandise so you can buy more hardware. That Café Press stuff is pretty bad, and you don't make any real money off of stickers.

Why not hook up with one of your own sponsors like tshirtsthatsuck.com and allposters.com?

And what about Grounds Platinum?

That is just sweeter than Apple Pie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream, and a 'venti' sized cup of White Chocolate Mocha Coffee. hmmmmmm.

I'm proud to be a member of one of the greatest sites every created. May it go down in history as a site that wasn't that bad at all!

It's good to hear that the site is moving up. I wonder which site is in first place.

At $15-$30 a pop, Domo-Kun stuffed animals could do really damn well. How about a motorized Newgrounds tank toy? P-Bot action figures, B/P rank and power level icon patches with the Newgrounds logo on them, ... seal plushies?

Yay, merchandising.

Two questions:

How much is all this costing?

How the fuck are you paying for it all?

OMFG... I would SO buy every single B/P rank badge patch... heck, maybe even two of each so my girlfriend and I can play "two lonely soldiers stranded on the battlefield about to die... yet strangely horny!"

er...

:::would put the Brigadier General patch on his jacket come wintertime, assuming he's made it to BrigGen by that point, which he most assuredly will, methinks... er... hethinks...:::

Realized that one immediately after posting. Still, after clearing it by the company that owns the rights to it, a Domo-Kun with the Newgrounds emblem emblazoned on its chest would be a hot sell.

Any other ideas? Thought of Clock Crew plushies, but those aren't Newgrounds' conceptual items, either.

Why dont you look into 64 bit processors in your data base server they support close to a terabye of ram

Top 400? Aside the 50% bandwith increase, that's something to congratulate.

Really, the evolvement this site has gone through is amazing.

Awesome idea. I think that Newgrounds is becoming more popular with each passing day. All my friends are starting to get memberships...maybe that's where all the traffic is coming from...

One of the top 400? A well deserved spot, even if I think it should have been higher on the list. Maybe one day this will be the most popular site of ALL TIME!!!! :D

You're right, there's been quite a few issues. Upgrade news, down time, more servers on the way- it been a bit crazy.
I know I've asked this a few times, but I've absolutely got to know. Will the site be down while you're hooking up the new servers, or will it just slow down traffic? Either way it's OK, bandwidth upgrades are always worth the wait.
