What would cause someone who never submitted a Song to newgrounds before to be banned? The song was original work and contained no offensive material (although I don't think that would matter too too much considering some of the content on newgrounds). Any insight would be much appreciated as I think the tune I am trying to submit is pretty darn good.

Anything that doesn't break the audio submission rules will be accepted- just make sure it's all your own work, samples from copyrighted songs are not accepted either. And of course crap like audio files made with text-to-speech programs, screaming into the mic and white noise will get you a slice of bannage.
But don't worry, just go ahead and submit if you have some original work to share

As far as I can tell, my song breaks none of the rules. The tune is COMPLETELY original. It's a drum and bass tune, so I don't scream on it let alone sing (my singing would probably get me banned! ;) ) I dunno, I PM'ed Wade Fulp as the banned notice said to do so. Still waiting to hear the reason(s) why I am banned for one submission. Meh, I dunno.

Sorry for the dbl post, but I don't see a way to edit my posts. I was thinking, If the title has a name of a movie in it, would that get it banned? The title of my tune was Lawnmower Man 2008. I don't think that infringes on any copywrong laws, does it?

No offense, but I am very wary of uploading my tunes to a site that doesn't have some sort of Author/Copyright protections. Anyone can DL it and say it was their tune. On NG, at least they have some sort of Author protection. BUT, I will make a short clip and upload it for you. This may take a little bit as I am at work and I don't have my soundforge installed here.

Wow dude, no need to be ignorant. How about you listen before you judge. And for the record, I actually key out my riffs on an actualy MIDI controller and tweak them after the fact. No ego here buddy.

well i think you can be banned if you got more than 3% of the music just like the original.

Yes, but the original tune was MY tune. I remixed my own song from years ago. maybe I shouldn't have said anything about it being a remix of my own song.

Meh....oh well. Looks like it's back to the underground clubs with my tune. I have been playing this out at a few places in Baltimore, Md and Pennsylvania. It got a great response, i just wanted to open it up to a much wider audience.
