I would have said; "I live a few metres from a massive B&Q" but they took it down to Build a "Next" a few weeks back.

Damn you!

LMAO yea they give me a hard time every single time i go and come back from england anyway... anytime i go they are like:

customs: who do you know here in london
me: friends
customs: and how do you know these friends
me: from a website
customs: ....<long pause>... so you are traveling all this way to meet people from the internet...
me: err... ive worked with them before...
customs: how...
me: well through the internet.. i make animations and sometimes i work with other people.
customs: ...<sighhhhhhh> *stamp *stamp welcome to london please proceed.
=======================

Whats funny is on the way back they really grilled me... you see this last time i went it was my birthday and the super-flash-bros as a joke gave me this dumb yaoi drawing book...

naturally im the one who gets chosen to have his bag searched... and of course they find that book...

they flipped through the pages... and gave me a weird look...

me: it was a joke from one of my friends ... it was my birthday...

*keeps flipping*.... ok that is all...

Ha ha ha!

It's gonna be my first time going through the customs, so I'm kinda nervous. And I'm pretty sure that once I'm actually there, the nervosity will have doubled, yet tripled. Oh, will I look suspicious! The best part, since I have to stop in Philly before leaving for London, I'll have to go through the customs a total of 6 times...

Oh, the humanity...
And if I ever see one of the agents putting on latex gloves, I swear I'm pissing myself...

or start unpuckering your butthole.

remind me to give you the accomidations info, they will definately ask you where you are staying exactly. first time i went i didnt remember exactly where i was staying without looking at my printout so i figured id just say at a friends house to get em off my dick.... no luck... instead they were like where in london does this friend live and i was like uhh i dont know exactly id have to check my bag.. and i took extra long to get out of there... so dont try and be slick!

Jobs. We don't pay tax, we don't have bills or rent to pay, most of the money we make is pretty much entirley for ourselves. It helps when you have a job, as well as make money via the net, and get "Educational Matenance Allowance" of the Goverment.

This month for example, I'll be making probably just shy of £500, although this was a pretty damn good month for me :)

In a few years time, any foreigner who wants to visit this country will probably be made to sit an exam before they're allowed in. If they fail they have to get on a plane and go back home.

It's getting kinda ridiculous... everybody who travels by airplane is like a suspected terrorist these days. Hopefully you won't get the same grief this time around.

Isn't that for people staying more than a few days? It seems silly for people visiting for a few days to see friends etc, but i can understand if they're staying in the country.

I dunno man, I've never been asked any of that "where are you staying, who do you know here" shit when traveling to a foreign country over the past couple of years. It might just mainly be the UK and the USA that are getting tight about it now, due to the possible threat of terrorism. I know that some friends went to the USA last summer and had a bit of a hard time with the customs officers there, but I haven't been to America for a long time now, so I don't know if everyone gets that or not.

I suppose it's necessary in a way, but it does still seem a bit OTT sometimes, IMO.

Out of curiosity, what do hotels go for per night in London. Obviously it depends on the quality, but what would something middle-class go for. Nothing fancy, just a room, a shower, you know the drill. If I book in for three or four nightswill I get it cheaper? I've never stayed in a hotel before see...

In London, I'd reckon it's going to be x2 normal price, I'mma look for a travel inn etc.

Link

You're looking at approx £200 for four nights, give or take.

Excellent, I was expecting like £300-£400 so that's pretty good. Thanks for the link, I'll do some quick searching. Wheres the meet point again? Near some train station or something? I'll look at getting a hotel as close as possible for my own convenience purposes. That and the fact that if it's any further I'll get lost.

Top one is cheap and basic which is all I need. I may opt for something a little more expensive and swanky though, we shall see.

Stupid site links don't work. It's called "Belgrave House Hotel" though.
Actually I've just thought. I only need three nights, not four. I'm coming down Friday, leave Monday, so I don't need to book it for the Monday :) Yay! I might be able to afford a slightly better hotel.

use lastminute.com. managed to get 3* twin for 55 quid a week before (surprising seeing how there was a massive event at the O2 literally one tube stop away from it), listed price on the night was 225. basically depends on how close you want to be to the centre. quite close will be pricey. a bit away will be less. travel out to heathrow and you can name your price :-)

I would guess 18 actually, dependent on the place. I know a lot of places in the States apparently won't check in anyone <21, so it's probably comparable here. A licensing thing I guess. Check wherever before booking imo

Fortunately living half a train line from London I don't have to worry about this. But most hotels only rent out to people that are 17 in place slike travel lodge, silent inn etc but fancier ones that are a single franchise will go up to 21.
