If it were magically 2010, then you'd be 2 years older... yet do the numbers on the thread change? No. So you'd get the same answer no matter what "year" you pretended it was, hence it only works for 2008.

It's also amusing because for those that it didn't work for it means you either failed to read the instructions, failed to do the math correctly, or both. Or you don't know when your birthday is/what day it is today.

Fun fact: it will work with any number that doesn't end with 0. (as the starting number).
e.g. 1-9, 11-19, 21-29 ---> infinity.
If it ends with zero it'll give you 5 less for the start number (age will still be "right").

With that in place, it'll work for every number. Even zero (you'll just get your age back).

No. The numbers 1757 and 1758 would have to change to 1769 and 1770.

It's like this addition trick which will no matter go back to your number. I've seen it done before on the Internet where they "guess" your number.

Algebraic whatsit.

Where y is the number you choose, and x is your birth year.

1. y

2. 2y

3. 2y+5

4. 100y + 250

5a. 100y + 2008

5b. 100y + 2007

6a. 100y + (2008 - x)

6b. 100y + (2007 - x)

Obviously, taking your birth year from 2008, or 2007 if you've not had your birthday yet will give your age, and the 100y just makes the number you chose into the first digit.

I got the number 26... It's not even three digits.

Its mostly the birthdate part that matters.
The restaraunt part.well,it can give you different numbers,but notice how he said 1-10.
