Yes peavey's are pretty good, buckethead uses peavey. But there arent really any second hand music shops near by :(
the most important question is: do you play live??
if the amplifier never leaves your room you're just wasting money, you'd be better off getting a digital modeling program like Amplitube-2 or Revalver. they're both coming out with newer models soon & they are a lot more versatile than a real amp...so if you don't gig i suggest that
Congratulations! You just destroyed someone else's hard work! This Flash has been blammed.

there were times when i left my amp at home & played with my Boss GT-6...i'd just send it straight to the PA, that could be a quick fix solution for the gig
but as for your amp, pick whatever you have in your price range & check out some reviews here

i suggest checking out mostly the bad reviews
your options are probably limited & you need one sooner than later, ebay would have been the best place for deals

All the Laney's i've come across sound terrible when trying to play with drums and other instruments..
But you could be right i'm just sayin from experience of seeing people try and perform with them it was too quiet :P
