I recommend you try the 30 day trial of flash and then if you are willing to spend $700 then you could buy the full version

or the alternative, but I'm not gonna discuss that

LiveSwif is free, but very poor (also ask any LiveSwif question over at LiveSwifers.org ).

Your best bet is to get the Adobe Flash CS3 30 day trial and then buy that. It's only about $250 or so, if you're a student.

Yeah, listen to Kirk, he knows all, and he is way better than any of us ever will be.

But if you are serious about making flash, I would suggest just getting flash ($250 for students, but a lot more if your not) because I've never tried LifeSwif but everyone says it teh sucks. But if you just wanna make animations no matter what, then try it

Also, I got my schools flash, if your school has a flash program, they bought roughly a 1k pack, and there is not that many computers in my school, and they said I could have it, just ask the teacher or librarian if you can have a copy. If you ask nicely they should say yes.

99.9% of all users on this flash use Macromedia (Adobe) Flash. It is very expensive software, but you can try it out for free. Unfortunatly that is only the 30 day

trial and to buy the whole thing costs $700 or so. But if you are a student (in college, highscool, I think even middle school) you can

get an educational version. It will be about $250. But if your school computers have flash on them, you might be able to ask one of

the teachers for the disk, if they are nice enough and if you ask politely, you might get it for free. The down side of using the

educational version is that you can't (legally) make money off of it or flashes you made with it.

Now that we have that down, there are also some other programs that can produce .swf's but of course, none of those are quiet as

good as flash.

After you've gotten flash, your going to need to learn how to make animations, games, use actionscript, and a bunch of other stuff.

It takes a while to get good, so don't give up right away, stick with it and you'll eventually get better!
