Mastering an album. 2008-04-11 07:47:10 Reply

I've just finished a 10 track (36 minute) album of alternative/acoustic/experimental songs. I've recorded and mixed the songs but i have no idea how to master. Will it make a drastic difference? If so, does a kind person in the audio portal fancy doing it for me :D lol

You'd be credited of course (if it sounds better than the originals)

Eh, I can give it a try if you like. I've done quite a bit in my time. Mastering does make a huge diffrence.
Drop me a line on aim (Shenkhar), msn (shenkhar@hotmail.com) or just pm me. If you want some examples of why mastering is a good idea I can provide them as well.

You will lol, and you will like it.

Mastering makes the song as "full" as possible by (depending on the person's skills and preferences) making the music level out to a certain point to reduce any unpleasent peakage. Mastering also encompasses and 'acoustic enhancing' like making the track sound more stereophonic and giving it more depth with effects such as reeverb etc.
