World Government? 2003-09-27 14:58:34 Reply

Does anyone think it will ever one day be possible for the world to unite to make a single country or one central governemnt for the whole planet. I mean like a step above the UN, not just a body for discussion, but international laws that are enforced throughout the world, such as labour laws. And each country is a province of the earth, no longer an indivdual country. Something along those lines, and how would it be set up? Any ideas?

That is a lovely idea. It'll never work, but that's just a small formality.

It WOULD eliminate most reasons for war but the ones in power would control the world. I don't care if this world-government is democratic or communist, in the end all form of government end up being a form of dictatorship with one or a handful of people at the top controllng the masses. To have them controlling the world and the world's army, that'd be well just plain silly, now wouldn't it?:)

That's true. The ones in power would control the world. Just like a certain country with a permanent seat in the security council. *Glares at Bush*

the problem is that if the world became one country like Pangea. There would be to much discrempasy. Laws would have to be pass and political statements and havoc would rule. U can't have one voice one ruler. WE don't know how to creat true oder. That y its divide and conquer. My ciew r hard ot understand but this is how i think. Sure problems mite be solved but new ones would arise. Human culture would have ot cahnge. ANd we can not accept that. These r the problems

If we were to institute a global government, then it should have a system of checks and balances much like the one that America was found on to prevent there being a single political entity with more political power than others.

I really would like to push for a world governemtn to provide some much needed unity, theyre would still be smalling governments to regulate things in different parts, but alot fewer countries more based on geographic conditions, the UN just simply isnt active enough to get to such a goal, not to mention the unequality of the current UN system.

but a system donimated by a two party system is the result. That's not a good basis for a world government... World War 3, maybe.

Anyhow, Euroland and American imperialism are evidence the world is still moving towards 1-W-G. It'll be interesting to see if all African or all Asian countries finally settle on 1 currency, etc.

Well its that time again! time to Ultra-Simplify everything and offer a basic guide to world domination!

Step 1: Become the richest and most powerful country on earth
Step 2: Make your people scared of everyone else's ideeas
Step 3: Make them believe in a "grreater good" or "greater evil" that can only be achieved through mass genocide/enslavement
Step 4: Decimate all religions by either wiping out their supporters or by taking control ( violently) of their people and re-educating them.
Step 5: Make a "world council" which will be composed of the ricechest and most powerful countries
Step 6: Amass a huge army
Step 7: Take control of the council ( secretly of course)

There you have it folks, a simple 7 step plan to world domination! It shouldn't take more than 1-2 hundreds of years to accomplish anyways.

Reading the prince are we Newpoxling?

A world government will not work if it is like the current United States government. Why do I say this? This is due to the fact that we don't really see sub $40,000 salary people in office(before they get into the office, of course). This seems to me that the American Democracy is slowly but surely becoming an Aristocracy. Don't believe me, investigate the pre-president salaries of the past 5 presidents as well as the senators and congressmen.

what happened to the good old days when people tryed to take over the world, bond would stop them in the end, but now he just chases terrorists, or north korean nutters who want to take over a little bit of the world called south korea...

anyway, maybe one day when mankind has got over all this childish buisiness of prejudice towards other people that worship the same God but in a different way to you, maybe when mankind stops being irrational, stubborn and ignorant, maybe when we have evolved a bit further away from animals beating each other over the head with branches over trivial matters, then maybe, just maybe there will be peace and unity.

but by then we might have discovered aliens or something to wage war upon and beat over the head with... spaceships and super weapons.

I think the US should be kicked out of the UN or atleast as a permanent memeber of the security council, after all they havent paid UN dues in many years and owe about $800 million, the largest debt to the UN dies of any country. They dont pay up, defey the decisions, yet still expect to be a part of the UN and a very powerful part of the security council.

The entire UN is useless. They don't back up any of their statements. If they did, the Iraq war wouldn't have happened. Any organization that has Libya as the head of the Human Rights Commision has some serious problems. This is the main problem with the UN. A lack of common sense. China and Syria are on the Security Council. How is Syria, a country that is one of the largest sponsors of terrorism and has launched two unprovoked wars against Israel, on the security council? If we wanted to start a world govt., we would first have to eliminate all religions. This is the only way, and most people would agree that it isn't practical. If we didn't, then the council or senate or whatever would be at each other's throats the whole time. Currently, our cultures are far to different to be able to melt together to form one govt.

"Sep 21 4300: World succumbs to alien threat due to quareling among the people in power"
