GTA4 is going to live up to the hype.
It's been tested by game reviewers, who have loved it and given it great reviews, so that's a good sign.

Yeah, that'll probably be a small dissappointment in the new installment.
From what I have read, the gameplay has a lot more to it, and there's a lot more realism. I think this will more than compensate the inability to fly planes. I haven't looked too much into the plot of the game, but if it's an improvement on the previous games, then I don't think there'll be too many people disappointed. One game that I liked more, plotwise, to the GTA games was Mafia. Very similar in style, but the 1930's Mafia plot was brilliantly done, although it was a lot more linear, no side missions, and you're only working for one family, but the cinematic plot, partnered with everything else that makes the GTA series popular, that would be the icing on the cake, so to speak.

I think GTA 4 will live up to the hype, as long as Rockstar doesn't delay that game like Bungie did with their Halo 3 game. That game was all hype, no show.

I do think it will live up to the hype. Apparently the amount of things you'll be able to do is huge compared to San Andreas, and any reviews I've seen have said nothing but great things about it (if those reviews were real that is.)

I have so far enjoyed every GTA game, and this one being located in NYC will be awesome. No GTA game has ever let me down, the freedom each of them grant while playing is just amazing. I used to be able to play GTA: SA for hours a day and never get bored. So in short I believe that GTA4 will live up to all the hype.

All of the previous sequels lived up to the hype, so I don't see why this one wouldn't.
I'd say so, I've honestly never been the slightest bit disappointed by a "real" GTA release. *Vice and Liberty City Stories are not real in my mind.*

Not horrible at all, they were just the only ones that I wasn't fully satisfied with. But for games that are made in between major projects, they were well above par.
I personally do not think that GTA 4 has been really hyped up like other games have been.
I just loaded up GTA: SA today and it was good but it is really dated in terms of graphics now. I am looking forward to an all-around upgrade in GTA4.
When I first broke someone's neck in Vice City Stories, I was so happy they'd changed one little thing. When you compare that to getting rid of the deformed lobster claws, euphoria engine, cover system, intelligent ai, it'd gunna be awesome.

The GTA franchise hasn't slowed down one bit, and has lived up to the hype (and controversy) every release. I'm confident they'll deliver with GTA4.

Well of course it will live up to the hype as you say. As long as the GTA's keep changing in plots and characters and upgrades in graphics and gameplay continue it will laways own in the GameStops. I have a reserved copy, we'll see April 29th.

Nah probably not, GTA: SA had a huge hype, ending up being pretty boring and stereotypical, at least in GTA: SA you could fly planes and jump out of em which is the only reason I did, because GTA 4 dosn't have planes I'm not buying it, also it will probably be another SA, with random guys swearing every 1.7 secounds and countless stereotypes, I mean I like the rags to slightly better rags aproach but to me it's just another boring attempt at free roaming.

The Rockstar has always delivered in making great games. Espically the GTA series, so there is no reason to doubt GTA 4 from being a flop as this is (technically speaking of course) the eighth game in the entire series.
