This week exemplifies what I said before. Good grief. "You Don't Wanna Leave" got 4.30? "Home Made DS" got 4.42?
I feel the need to repeat what I said before. So copypaste:
"I've grown somewhat weary of Newgrounds' insistence on giving anything that WASN'T done in flash (ie, video, paper, etc) a much higher score than something of far superior quality that WAS done in flash, simply because they THINK the former was much harder to make than the latter.
This animation http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/42 8697 was entirely hand-animated on paper. But this artists went one step further and even finished and colored it on the PC. It was an extremely arduous task.
And it turned out looking a million times better and more professional than any of these: http://barfquestion.newgrounds.com/flash / (and that paper DS movie submitted the other day and others like it)
But because it doesn't LOOK hand-drawn (thanks to the guy actually finishing up) the Newgrounds kids weren't "wowed" in the same way, and gave it a score of 3.50 and 600 views.
While "BarfQuestions"s work receives immensely superior scores and views.
No doubt BarfQuestion is still quite talented, spends a lot of time on his projects, and is pretty creative. And he certainly deserves the popularity far more than garbage like My New Grounds (which takes hardly any effort whatsoever).
But this obsession with video/sprites/paper just because they THINK it's hard because they don't know how to do it is just stupid.
And here I am returning to my retarded old ways of ranting about something that I shouldn't really care at all about in some thread on NG that probably only twelve kids will read and grow furious with."
