Listen here you little prick! If you read any of the posts INCLUDING!!!!!Wade's or Tom's who ever posted this you would know that they are buyinh a 300kbz server to replace 2 hundreds personally I think they should buy 1 900kbz server so they could not only be the most popular web site aside from Search engines but also the fastest including search engines.

Um, If you listen to your own advice, It may help. There is no such thing as a "300kbz server", It just Newgrounds' Internet connection. Cable is about 1.5 MBps. What they have now is 2 100 MBps lines, or roughly 133 Cable modems. They want to upgrade to a 300 MBps Line, which is about 200 cable modems. A 900 MBps line would cost about a million a month, and I don't think Banner ads can handle the cost of one. Search engines usually only have dual trunk 100s, they just are faster because they only have to serve out a simple database and text, pages that are about 20 kb each. NG on the other hand has to serve out 3 MB moves to the same number of people, and as a result is put under more strain and is slower.

Lol! I don't think we need that much. WTF is Virginia Tech doing with all that? Trying to decode the DNA of every single Chinese citizen? :)

Our new database server should be 2U. Our our regular webservers at 1U's now. We still have some older 4U servers that we will eventually replace with 1U's to make more room. :) I think we have our servers set up something like this: 8 webservers, 4 swf servers, 1 db server, 1 file server, 2 mail servers. We're going to be adding another 2 webservers, and then probably another 6, plus the new DB server.

Actually it might be 6 webservers and 2 swf servers. I can't keep track. Once we do all the upgrades we'll have to get a new layout diagram of everything.

Hardly at all. Think about it. Your gif maybe viewed a hundred or so times at most? We have 4MB entries being viewed over 30,000 times a day:

It's strange, but whenever you say that the site goes down for a couple hours or a day, I never notice any of this. Maybe I am just not on when it happens, but it seems strange that I have never been on when it has. I also think it is great that you all are trying to make the site a much faster and more reliable place for us users. Thanks..

You never know. People today are really starting to get crazy over this DNA stuff. I recently found out that I will marry in 7 years, die in 77 years, and do nothing in between. All that from my DNA...wow. Science is wonderful!

The new stuff for the site sounds great and for people who are complaining about pop-ups, theres really not that many it could be way worse.

Guy you just couldn't let me be a smartass for 10 seconds could you. I have no clue what the hell this shit is nor do I care, I just wanted to tell off that bastard who was asking very rudely when they were getting the server or whatever so I felt like telling the bastard off with the little knowledge of this crap that I have, I glanced at what Wade read I didn't analyze every damn letter unlike you!

I think Ng should get a 2000 mbps whatever! That would be what 1000 times faster than cable. because I'm on cable and I'm running 2000 kbps. thats 2 MB a second right?

Whoo! Glad to hear it -- I've been having lots of trouble even accessing the tiny "Blam me, I'm crap" movies... which is annoying due to the must-load-before-voting thing...

I guess that I am not on when any of these problems are happening. I have seen a few minor problems, but nothing like the whole site not working. Those upgrades are really going to help out with the site running smoothly. And an upgrade from 6 to 24 GIGs? Damn...that's gonna kick some @$$.

At 9/26/03 06:09 PM, WadeFulp 100mbps pipe lines. Sometime in the next week we will be switched to a single 300mbps line which should help keep the site running better during peak hours. We also will be ordering a half dozen new web servers and another new beast of a server to replace the beast of a server we recently got for our database server! Our current database server has 6 GIGs of RAM and the new on may have as much as 24 GIGs of RAM! The current database server will replace our current file server.

Hopefully with these upgrades the site will again run smooth and be less likely to go down for extended periods of time.

hey guys it me dark-syndicate and i have some good news atom films is making ok films.....well im nott going to lie they ROCK!!!!!!!o well thats my news
