holy crap i didnt even know you could do such a thing

you probably have a top of the line processor too dont ya, but i think the highest is at like 3.0-3.4 right now, but then again if your using it for such things you might be able to get a faster one

New servers sound awesome. At this rate, NG is going to have more servers & proccessors than Microsoft and CNN combined.

damn these recent server prob's broke my 2 month streak of depositing experience points every single day :'( i missed depositing it yesterday!!1 ahh oh well, it's not like my life is revolved around NG ;-)
but it has made me appreciate the NG BBS more & more, in the abscence of it...
Can't wait until the new server's are launched & stuff - good luck on that!

This is great news, man...
I was getting a bit worried when I couldn't connect to NG yesterday.

But it's great that you guys are working so hard to get Ng to run smoothly.

At the Level of servers with 24 Gigs of ram, You start getting CPUs that make those look like potato chips. 24 Gigs of RAM in a server isnt much either, Most Sun servers support 100 gigs, suns largest server holding half a Terabyte of Ram (512 Gigs).

The CPU would no doubt be a high end 64 Bit CUP, Such as The IMB Power 5, A Sun Ultra SPARC, Or maybe an Intel Itanium. Theres a long way to go up from their new "Monster" server :)

Not in terms of rack-mounted stuff. The Sun systems pretty much demand their own hosting facility, they're that big! :)

I noticed this myself, yesterday. Nice to see that the problem is fixed and the site is running nice as always (well...). The new servers and pipelines will be a great update for the site. I can't do much other than thank you for your great work in NG. it's awsome! =)

When you get them, will Newgrounds be down while you are installing the new servers and stuff? This sounds too good to be true, but it is true, maybe when you get them we won't ever have a slow day here at newgrounds. That would be awesome.

in my opinion NG needs an Enterprise server.

Up to 64 UltraSPARC(r) II 400 or 466 MHz processors
Up to 64 GB Memory
Support for up to 65 SBus or 32 PCI Cards
Support for more than 100 TB of storage
price around $100,000

This may have nothing to do with this post but.
Wade or Tom can u make it so u can have an option to change timezones. Cuz on NG all the time is in EST so its really annoying for people in the UK who have GMT. Plz change it. Also that option to choose ur previous level icon is a good idea too.
Thanx.

I kinda figured it was rack mounted, what Is it 5U?

What NG Needs is something like the Virginia Tech Cluster :P Of corse you probably don't have millions of dollars lying around to spend on That much power :)
