Theory of Evolution Vs Religeon

From all the threads I've seen on religeon and evolution I'm still undecided which is the real thing. I'm strict catholic backgound but am more inclined to go with the scientific version than belive blindly a book that is around 2000 years old and has been translated a million times.

The best compormise I can come to is that the entire old testemant is bullshit.

What do you guys think?

I think you need to do your research. There's a TON of evidence supporting christianity. Check out these books by Lee Strobel.

How's this for a better compromise;
God placed apes on the earth, knowing that they would evolve into us, therefore was still responsible for creation, he just did it through eveolution.

The old testimate is not bullshit! Two of every species in the world were put on a boat and became the only surviving lifeforms in the world (other than ocean life), but every one of them managed to survive to reproduce under these circumstances. It all makes perfect sense to me!

Oh also check out the article in "National Geographic" about chimpanzees hunting and killing smaller mammals for food. Can't remember the name of the article but check it out on NationalGeographic.com or .org can't remember which.

The real one is the one backed by scientific evidence. The questionable one is the one backed by faith alone. Those who believe in creationism disregard scientific evidence, under the suggestion that it's planted by the hand of God to test their faith.

HAHA!!! Yes it does! The bible was traslated into english about 50+ years before the word "dinosaur" was coined. That's why you don't see it in there.

I'm quite sure that you are the product of successive inbreeding, but believe me, it doesn't work that well. Two members of a species are not enough to help re-propagate it.

While I'm an avid believer of science, I can't help but sometimes wonder if all of science is, in fact, a lie, and religion is the truth. How could this possibly be, you ask? Why through a Matrix-like scenario, wherein the entirety of the world's population, save for the pious portion, is being fed this seemingly logical family of ideas and processes. It seems so sensible, so who are we to argue against it? But I still fear that, perhaps, there is a miniscule chance of science being a large-scale illusion, and the priests and prophets are The Ones who are trying to show us the truth.

But I personally feel more comfortable believing in science that religion, just because it caters more to my interests.
