ectsoman, less scribbling, more shading.
Make the parts with shading black and the parts on which light falls nearly white. Don't scribble everywhere, it makes your drawing grey and ugly.

The proportions of the figure seem pretty good, and as far as the shading you already said it was a sketch, not a finished piece. And to the guys who posted before me, do you have your periods or something?
