The only useless character I had in mind was Yuffie. I never really used her. Also, Quina wasn't a good character in my opinion. She might of been useful for some things but she wasn't my cup of coffee.

Aeris in final fantasy 7 because she dies half way through the game plus when she is in your team her limits suck and she's really weak.

Agreed, he was useless and his skills sucked balls.

However, I disagree with the Thief from FF1, they evolve into super badass Ninjas, and those Ninjas raped face.

He was the Cait Sith of Final Fantasy 9, and every game needs a Cait Sith.

I'm gonna say Vincent from FF7. He was a cool looking guy but his limit breaks screwed him up.

Cait Sith was more central to the plot than Cloud and Sephiroth, I think you'll find.

Plus, did you hear his theme music?

You're all, "Don't join me" and he's like, "Haha, no."

HE ALSO, bravely sacrifices himself inside the Temple Of The Ancients just to help the party, in a scene ten times more touching than when Aeris dies. :'(

Plus, I didn't want to go here, but he reclaims an innocent white child from her [possibly abusive] angry black captor. People never mention that, but it was really fucking noble.

Cait-Sith is a pretty useless character since his limit breaks aren't much (besides luck, but I don't rely too much on that), but an even more useless character is Kimahri as a few have said already. I would never think about using him in my party since he doesn't know any overdrive abilities that can attack multiple times, like Tidus and Wakka.

I did, made him seem shady.

Although heroic there was another model of him built so it's not all that sad.

I can imagine Barret being that kind of guy. Having an angry black man with a gun arm in the household isn't very safe.

To be honest Cait Sith wasn't that bad. His limit breaks were pretty fun and interesting.

Useless would actually be Aeris.

sadly we all know why.

It's a magical stuffed animal, it's not trying to solicit sex from you. You have a diseased mind, Mendou. No wonder you don't like Cait Sith.

It's a sin against God anytime a beautiful Cait Sith is taken from us.

A much better ending would be if an army of them swarmed up to North Cave, whilst a soundtrack by "Europe" played, they'd all beat Sephiroth and then stop the Meteor by sheer force.

For the matter..

ANY character in any FF game that doesn't have some kind of special attack that hits several times in one turn.

Final countdown playing while Fighting Sephiroth? Oh wow. With a whole army of them using the dice attack could probably take him down anyway.

Best fight in the history of RPG's by far.

Thank you Mick, you showed me new light on this character.

FF7: I never used Aeris (or Aerith). Beside the fact that she dies somewhere halfway, she was also pretty useless in battles.

FF8: I guess you can´t really count Edea as a character, so I´m gonna say Selphie. She had the worst limit breaks imo and since all characters base stats are pretty much equal, I think she´s the most useless out of them all. Still, she´s better than Eiko and Aeris were in their games.

FF9: Eiko. I thought it was pretty pointless that she was also a white mage/summoner like Garnet. Even though her white magic was better than that of Garnet, I still didn´t use her much. Apart from Eiko, I think Zidane wins the most useless main character award.

FFTA: Ezel. He was a secret chararcter, but he was very weak with only two spells that couldn´t even do any damage. I thought you were gonna get cheap cards after he joined your party, but you don´t which makes him totally useless.

Her only real use was just the party healer. Nothing more.

Kimahri and Wakka from Final Fantasy X were completely useless, they seemed good at first, but as soon as you made it furthur into the game, you relised how badly they sucked.

Not only his attack, his techniques were utter shit. And he was a pussy of a character, I hated that spoony bard.

One time, he ran away in the middle of a battle, and when he came back, he died instantly. I can never forgive him for that, no matter how spoony he might be.

But that's hilarious! He's a lovable comic relief character, the game would have been less memorable without him and therefore he is not a useless character.

Take a character like Kain - the game could've survived without him.

Vincent was epic. Not only did he fill in some really cool backstory, he was amazing all 'round. I guess his limits weren't as cool as they could hve been, but he still boasted some serious damage. And hell hes prolly the 2nd most B.A. character ever made next to Cloud. Next thread = coolest FF char ever XD. We all luff on Cloud.

Jump wasn't that great an ability, so I never used Kain much, either. But I could have never survived without Edge. Throw saved me in the final battle.

On a different note, Cloud from FFT.
